PCX vs NMax Video

Post by Beachboy »

Having a pizza last night in Kamala Beach Phuket and there parked next to me are the PCX and NMax. I couldn't help myself. They are both cool motorbikes. I think NMax is a better bike, by a disc brake.

I did a video a couple of years ago when I first got the PCX. It's got like 250 views. If we knew someone was going to watch it, we would have put some effort into it.

Long term Review of the PCX coming...soon or whenever I get around to it.

I prefer the PCX's 14" wheels, but the ABS is a real deal-maker for the NMAX. The PCx win in the look dept, but that's just me being bias. LOL

I actually have these two as my options when I was shopping for the scoot few months ago. The NMAX a bit cheaper in a dealer in Bangkok by around $200.

The honda dealer a bit more accommodating so I end up with the PCX 2016.

PCX NO ABS, why HONDA not build one in?
must be a reason to it... I don't think it's the cost, but can't think of one otherwise...

It's a scooter that is just faster than a pushbike at full lick?

That is an EASY question. Honda is being cheap, it absolutely is the cost. ABS could easily be built into the Honda PCX. Many other scooters of this size have ABS, even the similar sized Honda SH150i ....

I do not understand people that " WANT " to believe something so badly, that they ignore the obvious answer.... Wise up...

The other answer is Honda didn't have to put ABS before now. Honda owned the PCX niche until now.

I wonder how much it would cost to put a rear disc and ABS on a PCX? $25?

The one thing that would hold me back on an NMax is that it's a first year model and there are always problems that need to get shaken out. The first problem with my friend's new NMax was the stand. It was falling over. He had it back to the dealer a number of times before they fixed it. It's just a design error but you can expect more.

Driving the NMax feels exactly like driving the PCX with better brakes.
