New Member, Questions for Starters like me
Could you kindly advise me of:
1. If I only pull the left hand, i.e. rear break, does the Combined Break System take effect? as I have the habbit of using only rear break cos the front break is where the throttle is... busy hand...
2. What motor oil do you gents use? any recommendations? It seems MB grade oil is hard to come by, the only MB oil for scooters I know of is the Motul scooter oil and the original Honda MB oil.
3. Do you gents have the engine or motor oil warning sign show up when you ride for the first few miles? I got this warning then disappeared after a few miles.
4. I lock the PCX, then I long press start button, sometimes I got no response from the control panel, wait a few seconds, it responded. then no response, then a few seconds, light up, OK, very confusing. The thing is, if I don't lock the scooter by long press the start button, I don't get this issue.
Thank you for your advises.

In answer to #1 ....
Pulling the left lever activates the CBS. I am forgetting the percentage of distribution between back and front brakes. What I have found with mine is that there is a significant difference between using just the rear lever and both levers.

#3. The engine oil light may be coming on because your oil level is low. Put your pcx on its center stand when checking your oil. Take the dip stick out and wipe it off. Then insert it back in without screwing it in. Check the front side of it. The oil should be within the high and low marks.

Also make sure the engine is warmed up before checking your oil level.

If you run your scooter without oil, it will DESTROY the engine in much less than 1 mile !!!! A no oil pressure warning means you should shut off the engine IMMEDIATELY. Even riding ONE BLOCK wihtout oil can do major damage. You need to learn about this, or you wont have a scooter for long.doletotodole wrote: 3. You were lucky you actually had oil in the engine, or you would be posting about how your engine seized up and how much a complete engine replacement cost.
