Unbelievable idiot i am..
SOLD it the day i figured it out, guy says no problem Thanks

Friggn water pump not circulating coolant

All that work, All them parts, All this time..

But I’m going to tell y’all right now, these PCX engines are designed to last forever.. all the putzn around, including 10mile runs, and it did not blow the head gasket.. That’s Amazing..

Another thing I find amazing:
it was too simple for my over-engineer it brain to see
what an idiot i am..

Zeroed out cash like it was never in my possession
minus the Time and headaches of course

Why no high-temp warning then? You are supposed to get the light in the dash if the engine gets too hot.

My 2013 PCX150 made the exact same noise. Yes, it was the cam chain tensioner (CCT). Fixed it about two weeks ago, and it’s now quiet again. My scoot only had about 4300 miles when it started making that slapping/clacking noise. I was disappointed that Honda could not make a CCT that would last longer than this.

>>Friggn water pump not circulating coolant

Could this really be the issue? I have a 2019 PCX 150 with 4000 miles and I am having the EXACT SAME SOUND as described throughout this thread. The conditions during which I hear it are identical.

After reading this thread, I now notice that I do not hear the sound when I commute early in the morning for the first mile or so. Only after the engine heats up do I hear the clacking noise when rolling off the throttle to cruise between 12 and 33mph. Over the past few month, it seems to be getting louder. I can see in the peep window that I have plenty of coolant, which is blue. I hear the noise (I think) mostly on the right side of the bike. It sounds perfectly smooth at idle, and will seemingly idle forever just perfectly. I have never, ever seen an "overheat" indicator come on. I have no abnormal lights on my dash at all, and never have.

Even with the annoying clacking, the bike drives 100% normally. Full acceleration whenever I need it. The clacking is really annoying though!

Should I pay to have the water pump replaced?

Water pump..
impeller slat that spins the pump snapped

Open your radiator, let it get hot, see any water moving? Neither did i.. unbelievable how resilient this motor is..

Honda built a perfect motor here..
