:P Intermission is Almost over
excuse me....1st let me answer you, you. No-one is ever ready for me ;) Honestly, I almost got creamed by a taxi standing in the middle of the road at a traffic light! Then I was crossing when I should not have been! Staring up instead of down. What do you expect? All the buildings go up....my eyes follow. I know, I know...."Look Where You Want To Go!" I'm a dummy in the Big Apple! So I'm told anyway.

It's so good to see folks taking pictures again. Awhile back I was concerned about photography becoming a lost art. The 35mm cameras and camcorders of yesterday were so bulky and heavy that they were purposely left behind. I regret making that choice myself back then...memories not captured. Kodak has that pinned right, heh? The world and our loved ones "are" truly worth capturing...this includes our pets and bikes :D Today, we have featherweight camera's, cellphones, smartphones, iPhones, iPads and all the whatcha-ma-call-its we need to click-a-pic....Nice & Easy ;) (A little Tina Turner tossed in) so really no excuse not to anymore (that's "if" you own one).
Many of us have taken some good looking photo's, scattered throughout the forum(s). I really enjoy them and their captions.
I created this thread hoping to share the beauty we've seen, living or object, sky or sea, ugly or pretty and everything in between. If it looks good to you, good chance it will look good to us (within "boundaries" of course, with no need to explain "that" I hope).
In honesty and sadly, I do not travel much so my input would be close to home (NY)
As for members here? OMG you guys/gals Rock! Nature & the World Rocks! Put ya'll together? You're Rocking! That's Awesome!! I've said enough it's a Monday...I'm energized. Come Friday? I'll need a charge (optimizer nearby  ).
I'll hush. Please remember this thread folks and post those moments that made your day! Chit chat follow up is good too :D
Now I'm off....it's almost 60 degrees F now in NY and I'm hoping to get out the door before the dang rain shows up Again this Weds.!
Happy trails ;) WN

First off, where the heck did you get that cool icon? I'm jealous!! ;)

And no, photography is not dead! Now that I have a bike again, my photo-gear fits all under the seat-including tripod!-and I am back on the road.
Thanks for recognizing the world Rocks! I agree (I am a member of a rock-hounding club, hence the plate...). Love grabbing the handlebars, and heading out into the sunshine to grab a shot or two....but you never know what you will find at the end of the ride...

Great shot of the clouds! Really Nice. What camera do you use? I plan to do the same when I get my PCX. I think scooters and photography are a perfect match. You're part of the landscape while riding, and its so east to pull over and take a shot of something that catches your eye.

I have to say, I'm one of those who ditched their DSLR for an iphone. I do alot of travel photography, and I just love the portability of the iphone. Yeah, it's limiting in some regards...but the iphone has also made me more creative and a better photographer. In addition to the iphone, I take a gopro with me for action video when I travel. And a macbook air or ipad to edit the footage on. Its a very light set up.

Lagerhead...Cool Composition!!! Outrageous...Just have to be in the right place at the right time... o_O

Thanks for the comment Vagabondman!

I have an iPhone too, and use it a lot. These things are awesome when the moment arises, and no camera in sight. But when it comes to trying to capture the shot, I am still in love with DSLRs. The shot was taken with a Nikon D3200, F5.6, iso100, 1/125th second, 18mm. The shot is actually 6,000 x 4,000 and is stunningly beautiful in high res. I love both photography and scoots. That shot was taken on a trip with my rock-club to snag some amazing fossils in Indiana (taken from the Taco, however; needed the room for 150lbs of rock!). I ended up with a lot of really cool finds, and a photo log that is hard to describe. And a few beers with some great people. I am also into HDR photography, so that image was post-processed to bring out the 14-bit dynamic range of the D3200. My web is www.redrockcomputer.com, and I think I have that particular photo posted there, along with some other images of Michigan that I have recently taken while out and about. The camera gear is now stored safely in my scoot for stop-and-grab moments.

Keep the pixels coming...!!

An observation not a criticism but have you noticed how all the "glamorous" old scooter photos always seem to feature people with no safety gear what so ever! (Think Audrey Hepburn on her Vespa) Just food for thought!

Back then the average Vespa was about as fast as a bicycle.

I see very little safety gear now, much less 20-30 years a go.

People used to cut asbestos sheets with saws and drive home in a car with no seat belts. Times change.

Perhaps that was just a movie. It was sunny too. It would be different if she took a yorkshire holiday

When the light turned green, he was off to the races. At the next light about 300 yards up the street, I caught him again. I sort of felt sorry for her, she was a little cramped and had very little to hold on to giving the drivers riding style. I hope she's ok.

I don't see how/why girls agree to ride on what looks like a very painful seat. Thankfully she was rather tiny.
