By all means feel free to submit photo's from your country that are significant to you.
"Hot Spots" in NYC are: Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Statue of Liberty, United Nations and the Empire State Building.
Below, Times Square (with its' everyday hustle and bustle)

Yeah, the lakes are incredible. I haven't visited them yet. It's a decent hiking trail to reach them and its only doable in the summer. Weekends tend to be packed with people.
It is a must though
