Hi buddies!
Im new here. Hope to be part of this forum for a long time.
I had a Forza 250 for over 4 years in Spain(I think for american market the name is Reflex 250) and now Im living in Nevada,US and Ive the new Forza 300.
I have been reading some post about the new model and now Im so dissappointed with this.
I bought it in the last week of September 2014 and last weekend with only 250 miles the fuel pump is broken.
Four last Vins digits is 1621 without ABS.

Never fear Honda got a bad shipment of fuel pumps & many if not most of the Forza's made in 10/13 have them. Your dealer may not know about it & Honda isn't telling people, but that should be all that's wrong with your bike.

for the non-ABS version we have a VIN range of 1621 through 1789 (so far!).....
so maybe 200 non-ABS with potentially bad fuel pumps??!

we still don't know the "birth" or assembly date from the VIN for Fogalera's scoot...

10/13, by chance?

Since your Forza is a US model, the assembly date should be in the upper right corner of your VIN sticker.....

an example:

Image

in this case, this Forza was assembled on 8/13, but is still marketed as a 2014 model

every fuel pump failure reported here has an assembly date of 10/13, so far as we know
at least in the cases where we can determine the assembly date

Ahhh, ok .... I was checking the VIN number in the documentation.
I cant check my VIN sticker coz the motorcycle is still at Honda Services.
I hope the repair it next week.

My forza has 8000 kilometers and the manufacture date is 6/2013 and so far it's working good, but I was in today to check on some Warantee parts that were ordered ( not regarding the fuel pump)and they told me my scooter was part of a fuel pump recall ,they had no info on it yet from honda canada and no parts but he did say the fuel pumps seem to be seizing up. I will know more when honda sends me a recall notice. Oh also forgot to mention it's a abs model

So, only ABS models in all markets are affected so far??
That's what it sounds like.

is it possible we've found one thing all Forzas with fuel pump failures have had in common?

If the other US model with a failed pump turns out to be the ABS model, that has to more than coincidence.

It doesn't make a lot of sense, except that scoots with special options are often assembled in special productions runs.....
its likely that A and AC models have different VIN ranges and birth dates.

Mine is a 2014 model with abs built in 6/2013. Last four digits of vin 0121 I have 8000 kilometers and so far no problem ,it's built for the Canadian market, I was in today at a honda dealer and was told the scooter is part of a recall on the fuel pump I will be notified by honda canada in the near future to have the recall done.

Following the information from Atis re the decision on the States side of the pond re the Forza fuel pump I thought I would ask Honda Uk/Europe for their response.
After a bit of ducking and diving from them they have now replied as below.
We appear to have a "result".
I thought others in the UK may be interested in their reply.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Reply from Honda UK....

Thank you for your e-mail.
Firstly, I would like to apologise as there appears to have been an error in the information that was given to you initially. Having now checked with my technical department again, they have advised that they are currently in the process of discussing a recall with VOSA for this motorcycle for the fuel pump. At this time, the relevant procedures have to be taken and followed.

Once the information has been obtained, we will then be able to contact all customers who own this machine so that the recall can be carried out. An approximate timescale for this is 4 weeks.

I hope that this clarifies the matter for you and would like to thank you for taking the time to contact us.

Kind Regards,
Sarah

Other 2 issues in Italy. The last one affected a Forza 3000 with 14500 Kms, bought in October 2013, last VINS digits are: RI13.
Some our users asked Honda dealers and it seem there will be a recall soon for Forza 300 sold from 2013 to 1st quarter of 2014.
I remember in Italy only ABS model is on market.

Best regards

Just a little update on my Fuel Pump issue...

After my repair was done, I've put almost 1,500 miles on my Forza without an issue. Beginning to trust her again :P

I just bought a Forza on Friday and they wont release it until the fuel pump recall is fixed. They gave an estimate of two weeks and it sounds like the parts are already available in the US. I got it discounted pretty well knowing it needed the repair and since they wanted to clear them out for EOY. Good news to hear they are already being repaired.

So your dealer already had the parts in stock or did they have to wait like mine for them to arrive for the recall?
