I would def invest in a trickle charger,it monitors the battery and "trickles" as it needs it......starting it isnt enuff it needs to be ridden to charge properly....its easy to fix the lead to the battery and will be the best 50ish quid youll spend on the bike!!

I totally agree with that. Optimate 4 is a good un I got for the pcx recently

Yeah, definitely avoid the ice. The only time I've ever laid down a bike, I had to lay down my nearly half-ton PC800 on black ice to prevent bouncing off cars going down a hill.

Be sure to put some fuel stabilizer in your tank, I prefer Sta-bil or Seafoam...

Seafoam should only cost a couple £, and will save you quite a bit if your injectors get clogged from gas getting gunked up... I totally understand though, debt sucks.

Yeah ill get some seafoam or stabil, is it best for the tank to be completely full of petrol? And how much of the stuff do i put in?

And yes debt does suck but without it i wouldnt have had a PCX

Full tank, follow the instructions on the bottle. It's just a little splash for a tank as small as the PCX's.

I guess this means that the roads will start being gritted now. So I'm going to have to spend today taking the panels off the scoot and waxoyling the frame. And I'm definitely going to get the exhaust powder coated. I'll take some pics and post them when I can.

Does anybody have a recommendation for a clear lacquer that is heat resistant for my swing arm?

im pretty sure you cant powder coat an exhaust, i wanted my dylan one doing a while back they said it cant be done because of the temp,,,,,,,i ended up using hammerite bbq paint which works but if you want to keep it looking good youll have to do it every 9 months or when its looks tatty

BBQ paint works great! Its made to be able to take the heat and expansion of the metal. I haven't used it myself, but I've seen a bunch of people paint their exhaust with it.

Will one that cheap actually do the job?

Support you get what you pay for but if it's sold as a charger then it's got to be better then nothing. Google it and see if there any reviews.

ya it'll probably work fine while its new... Its more of a longevity issue when it comes to cheaper electronics IMO. If you use it indoors it'll probably last longer

i keep my PCX in the garage so shouldnt be a problem. Ill have a good trawl through the internet and ill probably buy it tomorrow as i get paid then. Thanks for the recommendation Alibally.

Struggling to find sta-bil or seafoam. Think there not so well known in the UK. Will this do?

Hey Woolley that is the exact charger I had for 6 years. Works very well and used each winter so should last. I sold it along with my bike earlier this year as I wanted something else. You can not go wrong with it.

Thats all i need to know then TC3, Ive just bought that and the fuel stabilizer i put a link to. Bring it on winter you icy bitch!

Did you leave the charger plugged in all winter then? And this might be a dumb question but do i need to take the battery out of the bike?
