I always get 48-50 miles before the gauge starts moving, when there are five bars left I have done 100 miles and I can do a further 40 to 50 miles before filling up

I ride quite conservatively, seldom breach 60mph. On a ride to work (11m) I can, in the late Spring, get 50+ until the first bar drops (record 56m). Different in the Winter when the bike requires more fuel from start. I recently returned 132.18mpg, having done 173.05m with, I calculate, another 11.95m left in the tank. MPG is seasonal, May/June works for me. It also depends where you fill up, Supermarket fuel is cheap, my PCX seems to like Esso or Shell. I havent tried the super fuels yet. This machine is remarkable, it has a quick pick up (if required), in nimble in London and returns an excellent MPG. I have done nearly 7,000m and will trade up on its second anniversary (March 2014) for a new PCX.

I think the most important bar is the last flashing bar. thanks, GN2 for letting me know I have about 20 miles left before walking the bike to the gas station. On my third fill up now and last time the trip odometer read 115 miles so that is also a good gauge (pun intended) to know when to fill up. One thing I was wondering, is the PCX easy to overfill and spill over? thanks... ScooterKim

117 TOTAL MILES
Only one work trip for 1/2 the miles. Rode mostly 40-45 MPH during the rest.
Milage bar intervals:
35-42-52-66-81-88-96-106 (started flashing at 114).
Notes from todays fuel up:
100.6 MILES
1st fuel up with new Ermax windscreen. 3 highway trips at 25 miles each. Was able to ride much more comfortably at 55 MPH with the new screen. Rode consistently at 55 on highway.
Milage bar intervals 31-36-46-65-80-89-96-two bars left.
June 28th fuel up
102.5 MILES
Some riding against strong winds. Mostly highway miles (75%).
Mileage bar intervals 31-36-47-60-75-85-95 with two bars left.
Pretty consistent on miles per bar since I have been tracking.

I try to fill up at the same location (when available) and to fill the tank until it clicks. I do not try to add more after it clicks. This way I stay consistent with my readings, etc. and don't spill either.
I do always pull two paper towels from next to the pump and stuff them around the nozzle hole (that is what I call it

) prior to filling just in case of a spill. It works for me

You're just wasting paper.
Around the fuel filler neck there's a rubber surround which connects to a hose.
This arrangement is designed to channel all spills onto the ground.

Yes, but here in the colonies you can go to prison for putting fuel on the ground. Just kidding about the jail part (I think) but we are responsible for the cost of any clean up or contamination from ANY fuel spill.

Three bars left at 103 miles is very good.
My last bar starts flashing around that mileage.

Wow, that's great mpg. I still haven't broken 100mpg, but I'm consistently close.

That was my 1st time over 100 MPG
I dont know what to tell you...my PCX has turned into a "Wondercycle". After I hit that 1000 mile club, it has just took off. It has been great.
This tank may be a little different though as the ride into work today was against a strong wind and I was running late so I was riding near 60 MPH the whole way.

Hi Jhois1,
Could you please tell me how did you do your engine burn-in? It seems that mileage is directly related on how careful you perform your first 500-1000km.
Thank you!
