Installed the Ermax!

I've only had it on the scooter for one trip to work (30 miles round trip) and I can definitely say its an improvement over stock. The wind noise in my helmet is MAYBE a little louder at lower speeds but about the same as stock when approaching top speed. The bulk of the wind hits me square across the shoulders. I dont really notice any acceleration improvements, but I definitely like the more aerodynamic properties of the screen. For instance, There is this one hill on my way to work where I slow to 45 at WOT. The same hill I only slowed to about 49. Granted this is ONE day of performance difference. I also noticed that I can maintain top speed much more easily. This makes the biggest difference in the 50-60 mph range. I also got rained on for the entire 15 mile trip home at 1am. But I think due to the screen, I stayed dryer on my torso than usual.

I cant beat the looks of this screen. So i think its here to stay. Thanks Dave for hookin it up.

Yeah, that must be the +12 version. The +25 version looks a lot higher.

I'm also thinking about an Ermax +25. I used to ride Pantheon/Foresight scooters equipped with nice windshields, you could drive always with an open helmet, the way I like it the best, and just look over the screen on the road before you.
But then again, I'm going to travel to places where temperatures are up to + 40 degrees Celcius (I don't know what that is in Fahrenheit). So I'm thinking about going with the standard shield for the time being. Some wind will be nice when it's very hot.

yep. +12. Makes a notable difference in aerodynamics, but if you want to be completely shielded from the wind I would go with a taller version. I kinda like the wind (especially in summer). The only reason why I was looking to change the screen was to reduce drag.

I was getting some helmet noise that I thought I would see if I could reduce. The noise is mainly my badly fitting visor in the Shark helmet I have that is renowned for being noisy. Taping the gap between the Ermax and the headlight fairing has reduced the noise a bit. But now I am too warm so maybe thats why the gap is there?

Back on topic, Trigg -- it's been months, did you ever get a windscreen?

And they delivered it from France to Australia within 5 days of ordering which I doubt I would get with an eBay purchase. Only takes 5 minutes to install. I did a bit of googling to find a nice windscreen as I wanted something that looks nice. Another make I saw was Bullster which also looks nice.
Hi Taz!. I was thinking of the tall Ermax as the most sensible option, but I saw that Bullster you mentioned and it caught my eye immediately.

Do you (or anyone else around here ;) ) have any feedback on how these windscreens behave?.

Guys, how thick are your Ermax windshields?. I'm having a look at the Bullster ones and I like the looks of it better than the Ermax, and so far the Ermax was the one I liked better. I just wanna know if the Bullster is gonna be thick enough as to withstand the stress of daily use, though it looks like it will. Bullster says theirs are 3mm thick.

I havent measured my Ermax but suspect its 3mm as well. Am at work without my measuring callipers! I like the small amount of flex and rubber surround on the ermax as when putting bike on steering lock there is some give if the mirror touches the windscreen that makes it easy to use steering lock. I must admit the Bullster looks nice too but I didnt see a pic of one till after I had bought my Ermax. So be nice to have a review here of the Bullster.

Im wondering if I can source a small windscreen spoiler that is just say 2 " in size that I can try on the top of the screen. I know MRA do them but they are big and more expensive than my whole Ermax!. I thought about canabolising my stock screen and cutting a spoiler out of it, but if I ever sell the bike someone may need the stock screen.

Yep, sure you can count on a thorough review if I eventually install that windscreen. Bad news is that I don't plan on installing it until summer is gone and there is an actual need for it ;) . So far temperatures are mild and my priorities are the top box and a proper summer jacket. Jacket will be ordered today, most likely, and the chosen model is the Bering Aero, 90€ after shipping. Top box, still hesitating between the Givi 34 liter or 39 liter model, but leaning towards the 39er.

my scoot fell over and hit my car completely shattering my givi screen. i wasnt completely happy with the givi as it was a bit shorter than i wanted, so i think i'll go with the ermax+25.

when researching screens it is important to realize that the aerodynamics will be different depending on the riders height. a screen that will cause bad buffeting to a tall rider will be just fine for a shorter rider. read reviews by a rider that is the same height as you to get an accurate idea of how it will be for you and your height.

I just measured the thickness of my Ermax and seems to be 4mm thick in answer to the much earlier question!
