If you decided to buy it any way you would definitely have to replace the seat, unless Honda ships us the 2014 version, which I kind of doubt since there are still 2013 versions in many showrooms and the prices have not gone down, which would have meant that the newer ones were about to be distributed here. The Forza is a nice bike, though I did not particularly like the seat....actually, I downright hated the seat. In any case, the Forza might be a better option just because it is larger. Of course, what do I know. I am average height, and I ride a Burgman 400, which is perfect because the back rest is moveable.

I'm 6'5". No two, four, eight ,ten wheeler will fit us

It doesn't make any difference and isn't worth worrying about

I suspect that if you've made 102 posts without buying a scooter, you probably never will
With all due respect dude...I donated a kidney to my brother last year. My priorities are elsewhere. I may have made 102 posts, but who are you to presume what I will and won't do? Seriously. You know nothing about me.

I know you wouln't get a scooter.

Id say go used for a 2013 PCX. I went new, I bought into the O down 2% interest. I see used 300 mile pcx's for 2800 maybe asking up to 3200 Only a few months old. If it hasn't been dropped looks clean has warranty left and you save well over a $1000 and you can get one, whats not to like? $3450 plus prep plus destination plus tax plus a dealer fee plus a tag fee plus interest My final will be near 6k unless I pay it off early. I do like the scoot ! The his and her ones seem to be the best way I see pairs for sale because someone fell out of love with the idea, That way you have your choice of color, usually . Good luck.

I'm getting a PCX but it's going to prove expensive compared to using the tube for commuting - currently £1,500/yr travel costs, whereas a new PCX over 2y'rs would at worse be 2700 + servicing + cycle gear + locks + insurance + fuel - over £4,700 - over three years commuting at present rates.
Dropping the 2nd yr service will save around £500, but for me it's not a cheap way of commuting unless buying 2nd hand. Two people at work bought a scooter and motorbike for £600 each and have only had a few issues - two flats, broken chain on the bike, battery on the scooter, etc.
It's only because I prefer the new 2014 model that I'm not saving £500 buying pre-reg'd, but it will offer freedom to travel through traffic jams and go where like, except motorways! :)

In your illustration the figures are presented badly.
At £1500 a year over three years the tube will cost you £4500
This is £200 less than your estimate for PCX ownership.
What you fail to take into account is that after three years your scooter will have a re-sale value, possibly as much as £1200 and your tube tickets will have a resale value of nil.
So a new PCX works out cheaper.

But you could do better....
A really good used 125 can be had for under £2000
Do the servicing yourself, they don't really need much looking after if you're not doing big mileages.
Decent riding gear needn't cost more than £200

Yeah, makes sense, but I'm gonna buy new. There are a few places that don't charge "fees" around here. Nothing against buying used...but I want my first scoot in the states to be brand spankin new. Insurance is low. Maintanence isn't that much. Yeah, the helmet, jacket, gloves etc will add to the cost...but hey...they'll last - I don't intend to go down :-)

For the last couple of years, I've been riding my bicycle to work. 16 miles round trip. I ride to the train station from my house on Long Island everyday instead of taking a cab, and then once in the city, I bike from Penn Station to my job instead of taking the subway. Rain or shine...and all thru the winter. My favorite part of the day! Zipping thru NYC traffic.

Bike cost me $350 and saved me $8,000 in two years on cabs & subways!

So...I've more than paid for my PCX already. ;-)

Oh...and if I ride my PCX into the city everyday when I get it, instead of taking the LIRR...I'll save an additional $3,000 a year on the LIRR monthly ticket on top of the $3,000 a year on cabs, and $1,200 a year on subway fare. A whopping $7,200 a year savings!

Heck, I could buy a new scoot or motorcycle every year for that. Heh heh heh

With all that cash saved you should get down to the Vespa dealer in Queens and treat yourself to something nice....

Vespas are nice, but I don't think I'm a vespa guy. Maybe if I lived in Italy. I'd tool around the side streets of Rome in my Armani suit & skinny tie shouting BELLA Bambina! To all the women as I rode by.

But I lived in Taiwan for 3 yrs, and rode so many Hondas, kymcos & SYMs, that they are in my blood. Plus I REALLY like the look of the PCX.

I'd like to have a collection of scoots & motorcycles someday. So maybe a vespa is in my future too. But right now I got only one scoot on me mind. ;-)

Vespas are very pretty, but you get more for your money elsewhere.
e.g. Prospect Motorcycle on Coney Island Avenue, Brooklyn are advertising a brand new Kymco Super8 150 for $2500...
