I got a set of 10g Dr pulley sliders to try. It doesn't seem to make a lot of difference from the 13g ones I had in except for revving hard now when you accelerate. I'll give them a go for a while but will probably put the heavier ones back in. I am not wanting run about with the thing screaming its head off all the time. It's not good for the engine or the fuel consumption for that matter.

If you've ordered them then give them a go, you might think they are fine. It only takes 20-30 mins to fit them so what have you to lose.

It wasn't worth the effort for me to build a tool, especially when a premade one is only $20. Here's the one I use to get off the clutch or variator on any scooter I'm working on: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HS4NA8

Malossi multi var is good but daytona variator provides great acceleration and a higher top speed along with it. I think it's around 3-4kph higher top speed.

Mine cost me nothing as I had the raw materials lying around the garage.
The bought tools are stronger looking though but the home made on works fine.
