Define small... Can you take a picture?
There's absolutely no way you need new brake pads after less than 3k miles.

Got the Tyre today :-) thanks for the hook up gn2
just got to get it fitted now, should be fun taking the parts off!
Oh and maddiedog I made a separate thread about the Pads,
apparently they're still ok, abit weird about the rear Tyre needing replacing though.

No, I got Paint Markers, was bored so coloured them in on both sides, will do the front one on the Bike when it isn't raining, think it looks better like that.

I've just hit 3000 Miles today,
again it's only had 1 Service at 1569 Miles,
(not 100% sure on what exactly was done)
is there anything important I need to get done asap?
or shall I wait till the 5000 Miles and get a proper 2nd Service done?
I dont really understand the maintenance schedule,
but im now on 3000 Miles,
so just need confirmation on what and when I should get something done,
maddiedog said get a Oil change at 5000 Miles,
so again, shall I just wait until I get to 5000 and get a 2nd Service?

I'd wait until 5k miles. Doing it any sooner would be a waste, since the oil has life anyways. If you have an exceptionally long gap between service, shortening the gap between the next service won't compensate for the extra wear from the long gap. But, you might as well get back on the maintenance schedule for ease of tracking service by getting the change at 5k miles. Since the 1st service was about 1000 miles late, you could even wait until 6k miles and be fine.

iceman wrote:Not sure where you are - UK/US? 1st service should be at 600, mostly good to get the 1st oil change done. London dealers quoted me these kind of figures:
First Service (600 miles) £71.75, Second Service (2500 miles or 6 months) £110.00, Third Service (5000 miles or 6 months) £118.00
Fourth Service (7500 miles or 6 months) £125.00, Fifth Service (10000 miles or 6 months) £118.00, Sixth Service (12500 or 6 months) £130.00
Seventh Service (15000 miles or 6 months) £245.00
These prices may not always cover parts i.e. parts not normally part of the service.
I've already pre-booked the 1st service, just not sure how many more I will have done to keep the warranty. As it's the new 2015 model, with unknown's regarding changes and longevity (led lighting panels, etc), I'm waiting to see if service info comes out from users on this forum or the manual is available when the US PCX150 2015 model comes out - UK dealers keep telling me these will not be any paper manuals for customers from now on - it's all on-line for dealers. I think this may not be true for countries outside the UK.
Wow. Those costs are ridiculous. I got a free labour coupon book from the local Honda dealer when I bought my pcx. My first service cost me about $10 for parts, and they dropped and picked me up from work.

Just passed 4k miles,
for some reason though it doesnt seem to be riding as 'smooth' as before,
Engine seems to struggle abit,
might just be me though...
but thought getting the Oils changed might 'help' ?
I still haven't had a Service done myself,
so only the first one has been done which was around 1500 miles,
what do you think?

Plug and air filter?
Have you checked the tyre pressures recently?

There's nothing wrong with the standard NGK spark plug. There was some one on here had problems with a fancy spark plug. I think if was a brisk plug that caused their bike to run badly and was in the garage for a while until they worked out what was wrong with it.

Ok thanks a lot, i've gone with the standard, hopefully the new Filter and Plug will make a difference, and then Oil change at 5k miles.

Yep something isn't right, there's a slight tapping sound, sounds like its coming from the front :-/
when i've got the throttle back it's fine,
but then when released there's a fast tapping sound,
i'll try and record it in the next couple of days........
Hopefully the new Spark Plug will be here tomorrow/Tuesday,
says they need to be replaced at 5k miles,
well im not on that yet so can that surely be causing an issue?
or will a new one even make a difference at all?
Says Oils at 5k as well but will replacing that now make a difference?
not sure why it's sounding weird,
and again the performance isn't as good as when I had it,
when I had it it was a smooth ride,
but again not sure whether it's just me but now it just feels like its 'trying' to run.
Also im not sure whether this is the same for them all,
but now, when reaching the 60mph mark if im on a stretch of road,
when the throttle back and picking up speed,
at a certain speed the Bike sounds weird and then after a couple of seconds sounds like it 'gets into it' and then sounds fine,
again im not sure whether this is the same for them all....
just cant remember it happening before.
Got the Bike at 2614 miles at the end of May
so since then i've done about 1436.....
so much for my rough annual mileage for the Insurance as that says 3000 miles lol
and i've done nearly half that in just 2 months.
But yep.. if anyone can suggest anything I can do,
or whether you know of the sounds im hearing,
never seen these Bikes before and im a far way from a Honda Dealer,
and not many Garages around here do Scooters...
so if anyone on here can help or suggest anything,
thanks :-)

Still a little confused with this service,
im nearly on 5000 miles,
it's had 1 service at 1500 or whatever it was (not by me)
i've changed the Engine Oil myself, and the Air Box Filter, and the Spark Plug,
was told to get a service at 5000 miles...
but i've not long changed those 3 things,
so do I need to still take it in at 5000?
or shall I wait?
or shall I take it in just for them to take a look around just to make sure nothing has 'happened' since i've had it,
baring in mind my nearest Honda dealers is awhile away...
and Garages around here have admitted they dont really know much about the Scooter,
or is there anything I can try and do myself?

at 5000 miles I'd have the oil changed, clean the oil "filter" and adjust the valves.
Now your about at the decision point with valves. The manual states to check them every 2500 miles.
Even doing it myself I think that is absurd. I checked at 600, 2500, and 7500. Only had to adjust at 600.
I'm at 12,000 miles now and don't plan on touching them until 15k. From then on It will be every 10,000 miles for valve checks. and I plan on extended that based on how the previous inspection went!

I've just gone over 5000 miles now...
I dont have a clue about the Valves,
is this something I can do myself?
