Re: Best Exhaust (UK)
Anyone know if these are any good:
http://www.powerbypcx.com/achat-echappe ... 96295.html
http://www.powerbypcx.com/achat-echappe ... 14434.html
supposed to be for the newer models as well...
you think they would be easy to replace, just simply take the old off and put the new on,
or would I have to buy any extra for mounting :-/
really need a better sounding Exhaust, a louder one at least,
and one that isn't going to mess the Bike up.

I have a youshimura exhaust on mine and love it, it took a bit of wiggling to fit but it's nice and loud and surprisingly adds to the performance too!

Re: Best Exhaust (UK)
Judging by the discolouration around the joins they are cheap and nasty junk.
Wouldn't pay thirty euros for one nevermind three hundred odd.

Have you investigated the costly but Cool Sound of the Akrapovic PCX muffler?
http://www.akrapovic.com/#!/motorcycle/ ... earId=3876
You can compare our stock muffler sound to Their muffler sound here:

And....the installation instructions:

Would this fit on the newer model?
and where did you get it from? and how much was it about?
I don't want to spend shit loads, just something to make the Bike a bit louder.

Re: Best Exhaust (UK)
Just been in touch with My Scooter Parts and they said they have this exhaust for the late PCX Bikes...
Giannelli G4 Stainless Steel Exhaust
http://www.myscooterparts.co.uk/auto-sc ... r/gi43268/
Only £281.13
RRP £312.37
(not much of a saving lol)
Didn't really want to spend nearly £300 as it's just a safety feature really and to drown out the annoying sounds on my Bike, not really for performance.

Re: Best Exhaust (UK)
I bought it off a member on here and it would fit anything with enough encouragement!
It was designed for the 2012 version 1 pcx, i made it fit the version 2 2013 model by cutting off the flange, welding a short bit of pipe in and then rotate the flange.
I also needed to cut the pipe as it passes under the radiator and bend it in slightly.

Re: Best Exhaust (UK)
Haven't bought it yet, i've only heard it on an Aprilia, there's not many videos for that one,
found it on eBay for £229 though, not sure whether to get it or not....
Not liking the discolouring to it though :-/

Re: Best Exhaust (UK)
Wow! Not to dissuade you, but that Can on that Aprilia sounds worse than the noisy problem you're experiencing! Rattle Can. Must be another out there. Leo Vince? Or the other I mentioned, Akrapovic? I know, Too expensive? Might be worth it in the end though
I wish you could get that noise looked at again with you being present! Ignoring the noise via camouflage is Not the safest route to go. I do understand and realize that you have a dilemma getting yer scoot back n forth to the dealer, But....I'm talking about your safety and perhaps nipping something in the bud before it developes into something else? Mama said that a lot
This is one of those times that "You" want to Snap yer Fingers and make that Damn Noise go hither!!
I get it!!
Speaking of Mama, yikes! I gotta go! Catch Ya later-Nursing Home bound

Re: Best Exhaust (UK)
They said this is the same exhaust but different branding on it, on a Honda PCX:
will have to go further in to hear it, round about the middle.

Re: Best Exhaust (UK)
It seems a lot for a tin can and a piece of pipe. Earplugs might be cheaper, assuming you don't always ride with them. My bike sounds like a bag of spanners without earplugs. Smooth as silk with.
Have you exhausted (
) all options for solving the problem rather than covering the symptom?
.

Re: Best Exhaust (UK)
I can't wear earplugs, also I like hearing the Bike and my surroundings for obvious horns or police/ambulance/fire engines etc....
I don't really like the look of the stock Exhaust either, so might just go with it and get another...
this one looked nice, but too small... probably doesn't sound that good either:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-PCX125- ... 234ace4dbe
might just go with that other one, seen it on eBay for £229 from Italy, free postage etc...

Re: Best Exhaust (UK)
Now that! sounds like an exhaust with some body deep-tone tuit!
Hopefully we just heard it on a PCX....let's jus say we did? About $350.00 U.S.

Re: Best Exhaust (UK)
+1 for the Yoshimuras out there. Not too loud with DB reducer in.
I'm hanging out for a nice titanium Moriwaki from Webbike this time.
As for the noise debate, a little extra sound in the CITY is valuable when wankers attached to their new I-DONT-HAVE-A-LIFE-PHONE strolling across the road are an issue. And it sounds nice in tunnels.
As someone who has invested (wasted
) thousands of dollars in all sorts of pipework over the years I now go for something with larger muffler and more packing.
Basically, anything straight-through (eg slash cuts on a Hardleys) sound SHITHOUSE on the bike and to the passer by due to the high pitch cracking and definitely cause hearing loss, tinnitus etc.
Something with lots of packing and a decent muffler (even straight through with no baffle) gives a nice loud note but it emphasises the DEEP, BASS TONES and eliminates that harsh, high-pitch crack that sounds like someone letting of some cheap fireworks on cracker night.
Just me 5cents worth but seriously, something that looks like it has no packing and is made from cheap tin will likely sound like above mentioned chinese firecrackers.
