you you wrote:Wonder why the thief cut off the saddlebag. You only need to put a slit in with a Stanley knife and pull the items out. Could have done both in 30secs and you might have been non the wiser.
Or you know,
use the zipper. The person reviewing the footage thinks the thief didn't want to be caught rummaging through my bags, which I think is BS given that he didn't seem to give a damn that my alarm was screaming at him.

I was thinking about attaching a detonator that can be triggered with a cell phone into the gas tank

.
Anyhoo, I talked to a coworker who said he'd parked his Honda Shadow in the lot for 2 1/2 years without issue. So I figure maybe if I pop the top box off and take my helmet with me, it shouldn't be an issue.
If it is, I'd expect a nice fat check from my insurance and buy a nice new CTX700N with that, along with finding a less sh*tty place to work at.

Well, it's just more convenient to also steal something to hold all the loot, too.

Really sorry to hear about your loss Valiant.
Theft should be treated as a crime of violence.
Locks don't keep thieves out.
They keep honest people honest.

I don't understand the question.

They're two completely different types of crime because society views crimes of violence as more serious than those against property. If you increase the penalty for property crimes then you would have to concomitantly increase the penalty for crimes of violence to preserve that distinction.

The thicker the cables the bigger the cutters.

Around where I am everyone has a CC and we have that pesky Castle Doctrine so the thieves know they are risking their very lives for almost nothing if they run into someone during a major heist like a home or even a vehicle. Nothing seems to discourage some of the folks on drugs, however, and the real pros make sure you never see them.
