Mine - with 7000 km, does it when stone cold. Stop and start a couple of times and it disappears.

I usually drive it like I stole it, too. Seems gentle takeoffs aggravate the situation.

Hi,

I have just picked up a 2012 PCX125 with only 2,500 miles and I have noticed the juddering when moving off from cold
when it is warm it seems to disappear!

Mines been much better now I do not start slowly on the throttle, but I still do not go wild - no need.

Only happening when the bike's cold may be something more sinister. Have you had the bike serviced yet? There may be some sludge in the engine from skipping the first maintenance interval.

Sounds more like the engine than the clutch shoes.
Mine used to be a wee bit juddery when the engine was cold first thing in the morning, never bothered about it tbh.

Mine used to 'shudder' more from cold than some minutes in - but that was when I was going gentle with it - now it may shudder 1st off at times but soon settles down. I thought it was the belt/clutch being glazed but less of an issue as the belt warmed up and got more flex - just a thought.

The other thing I thought it might be was condensation in the drivebelt/pulley faces in the morning.

I can have shudder for the 1st few seconds when leaving for home, 5.30pm in summer so mine is not due to early morning condensation - but it only does it rarely and for a few seconds, after that it's mostly fine. Still believe the belt rubber is a little stiff and then loosens up once it gets going.

Jerky/juddery starts are usually caused by dust in the clutch. It needs a good high-speed run about 55mph/90 kph to get rid of the dust.
The other cause is glazed clutch shoes which has been alluded to. This needs a few really hard starts at full throttle to deglaze the linings.
In cold weather let the engine warm up before ridding away. Something we don't suffer from in Thailand.

How would sludge in the engine oil cause jerky moving off from a start?
