Does anyone actually use the shutter? I am more concerned about not getting it open than I am about bike theft. Our ICBC insurance rates are so high in British Columbia, Canada that I never insure scooters for theft.

I ordered a spare key from China and had to figure out the four little magnet codes for the shutter.

Dave, I share your concern about the shutter - it's a royal PITA IMO. Are you implying that there might be a way to lock the steering but not have the shutter automatically close when removing the key at the lock position? If so I would really be interested in how it's done. While the areas I park away from home tend to be very low crime rate areas I do prefer to at least lock my steering but the automatic ignition shutter is overkill for my security needs. I'd prefer to be able to have the option of locking my steering without triggering the automatic closing of the shutter.

My Forza doesn't automatically close the shutter when I lock the steering.

^^^ What he said! Mine doesn't Auto-Lock either. I have to Manually push the Small Lever on the Shutter to close it.

I tried the Key both ways, and it doesn't do it. I'm wondering if you might be wearing Gloves when you Lock your Forks, and maybe they're catching the Lever?

Cheers!

Neither do the older models of PCX, but the new one does.

I did not know that - I should probably stop sticking my nose in the Forza subforum :D

Neither does mine but mine is Canadian and a rebuilt insurance wreck also.

Has anyone had their key wear out too much to operate the shutter?

Mine seems to take a lot of force to open and close it. The Chinese replacement keys are not cheap and take a long time to get to Hope, BC, Canada.
