The underseat load limit is 13kg, the rear carrier load limit is 10kg.
These weight limits are either on the label or in the manual.
But there are two versions of the original PCX with different manuals and one of them has lower weight limits.

Wait a second, now I'm getting really confused. The link for the E231 baseplate above states that the E231 is only for Monolock cases. The Givi.it website states the same. But the Giviusa site says that the E231 is for Monokey cases. I want to get the Maxia with lights (a Monokey). Can I still get use the E231 advertised on compacc to set it up? Are there multiple types of E231, one for Monolock and one for Monokey?

seems there is a mistake on the USA site. the E231 is made to fit the monolock case. you may be able to mount the universal mounting plate to it somehow, but it seems that nobody here has tried it with the E231. therefore, i would make sure i could return the monokey set easily if it looks like it is not gonna work.

I agree with Haildamage -- I've heard and seen monokey and monolock topcases used interchangeably, but you should email Givi to verify with your specific mount and topcase before proceeding.

The weights GN2 has mentioned for maximum load is the operating load. I wouldn't go much higher than those while riding, but while stopped, I wouldn't hesitate to put more than twice that in a topcase.

I've had a cheap generic topcase loaded with 30+lbs of textbooks crack open from hitting a bump. On the PCX, I'd be more worried about the aluminum mounting points being the point of failure, but only after hitting a massive pothole with a way overloaded topcase.

I got the cortech super 2.0 saddle bags with a tail bag. the tail bag alone is just $88.00. If security is not a priority, go for a tail bag. $350.00 is too much man!!!

At least here in the USA, security is a priority. I've come out to kids sitting on my bike several times. If there was a bag on it that wasn't locked, I'm 100% sure someone would rifle through it like it was a bin at a garage sale...

It depended on the circumstance. I'm not going to cuss out an adult in front of his child, let alone cuss out a child... I just gently set the kid and parent straight. No need to be overly dramatic, especially since no damage was ever done.

It read like there was a gang of kids sitting on your bike not a Dad letting his kid use your bike as a fairground ride

I've come out to see 3 neighborhood kids playing on my bikes before, while they were parked in my carport. I was a bit less polite then, but still didn't find violence necessary...

Now, if any of the little fuckers had done any damage, things would have been different.

Back to the topic and digging out this older thread, does the monokey plates fit the PCX? I found out yesterday that my helmet doesn't fit under the seat without forcing it in and bending the seat a fraction so I'll be needing a bigger top box to put the helmet in when I'm parked plus provisions for a second one for a pillion.

Geez, just thinking maybe you should start a thread under General topics so we can keep up with your up and coming "family" events I'm serious Baby news, house news and mods, selling of bikes, the to-be-purchase of 1 sporty car (by the way, the Honda Fit had me going for awhile too, test drive and all around visibility almost sold me, but anyway....)
