OK, here comes some useful stuff.

Have a good read through the Sharp website about helmet safety and how to select a helmet which fits properly.
Remember that spending more money does not necessarily get you a better helmet.
https://sharp.dft.gov.uk/get-the-right-fit/
DO NOT buy a helmet mail order, always get it from a shop.
Get one with a pinlock visor insert.

Clothing. Get decent pairs of gloves and boots, an armoured jacket and trousers and wear them every trip.
Go to a shop with a big variety (e.g. J&S accessories) and try stuff on.

Get your CBT done and book some further training.

Get some waterless wash and wax and microfibre cloths and keep it shiny.
If you don't have a garage, get a JDC ultimate heavy duty cover and some heavy duty locks.
If you do have a garage, get a dust cover.
If you live in London, (or any big city) move to the countryside.

And most important of all: get out there and ride every chance you get and enjoy it :)

I haven't done any of your suggestions but seem to be doing OK so far. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks ,actually that did help, I have no water access and the cleaning solution was very helpful as I have now purchased some of that along with microfiber cloths. I have a helmet but bought cheap from store after trying it on it fits ok but I will be getting a branded one In store when I pick my bike up in a couple of weeks. Pin-lock is a must. Thanks.
