Tip - take it easy, look ahead, try not to brake or turn on icey patches or wet metal plates in the road - not had an issue in 5 years of riding in heavy rain and freezing conditions. Only problem is other drivers who have learnt they can get away with speeding, tail-gating, pulling in front and showing road rage because no one does anything to stop it.

The only species that have survived throughout history, and pre-recorded history, are those which live in cooperation with other life forms. . .barring any huge disaster like a meteor striking the planet causing a "quasi nuclear winter", floods of Biblical proportion, or some kind of disease and the like.

The daily traffic reports suggest that we still have a long way to go towards mutually beneficial cooperation.

I think that with all the communication devices we have at our disposal today we have an opportunity unlike any time in human history to develop a better social structure planet-wide to live and work cooperatively for the common good. One key item that must never be overlooked however is the importance of proper parenting. Without the parents setting proper examples and instilling the best of values in their children (short of dealing with psychological medical issues which need special professional attention) we will continue to see the repetition of our "lesser angles" displayed day-to-day until fish no longer swim, animals no longer feed, and birds no longer fly.

And yes there are ways of thinking (without getting too deep on the subject) that need some TLC for us all to go forth and eat, laugh, work, prosper, just plain live and be well.

Oh. . .sorry. . .yes. . .watch out for stupid, self serving, mean, psychos who are all about getting what they want regardless of how it's going to effect you. Examples include running red lights, challenging you for space in traffic, going out of turn anywhere, tailgating, driving without insurance, a license, or registration, DW seriously Intoxicated, DW seriously Medicated, DW seriously Demented, and DW Distracted just to mention a few.

So as we all leave 2018 and start anew with 2019 let us go forth and grin and nod to our neighbors and wish them well and perhaps grant someone a random act of kindness. However, always be on alert of those who still fail to share the same enthusiasm. Time to play ball. . ..

Well, even if you don't wear full gear you should at least have riding footwear, gloves, and a helmet with eye protection. Otherwise, you are fooling yourself into believing that nothing will ever go wrong. It doesn't take much for your foot to slip when you are coming to a stop on a corner, or a large bug hits you in the face (or eyes).

Winter riding tip Number 1: do it somewhere that has warm weather in winter.

I like that one. Dont forget to add that it shouldn't be raining all the time either. For you folks who have annual monsoons, how do you ride it that kind of weather?? Floats?

Yeah winter sucks...

...and when it rains there, it floods.
