I was more thinking of the provided bushing vs the stock one, but not sure

Who knows what these marketing charts are supposed to be showing. Other than the chart they show their board members of increasing sales from questionable advertising. Like the chart you posted for the aftermarket clutch that showed it increasing the power of the bike. Complete nonsense.

Would it make sense for me to mix these weights to get both acceleration and top end?

No problem if you mix them 2x3 pieces, the effect is the same as 6x 17g.

Accept then you lose the advantage of the lower starting gear that you get from the sliders. Just use a lighter slider as Mario has.

If you want better fuel economy use the mix...(no complaints with my 20gS/15gR)
better acceleration use just sliders...
both ways will give the same top end.

You will most certainly end up with 15g "sliding rollers" rather than 17g.

Glad that I did go for the latest J.Costa vario, there are clearly more changes than only the blue sliders.
Looks like the bell has a smoother finish.
The older one.
The hole's for the sliders have a smooth finish now.

1,3gram lighter than the white one's.
Beautiful bearing with intergraded graphite reservoirs.

J.Costa decided for me, older model gomes standard with the 17g and this latest model gomes standard with 15,75g.

Just mounted the J.Costa vario, mounting was a piece of cake and all fits perfectly, didn't need the provided distance ring needed when the vario is rubbing the crankcase behind the vario
Striking detail is that the belt now use the full range of the rear pulley, before there was 5mm left unused, chapeau for J.costa!!
Before with the standard vario,
Did a short test run round the block in the rain, normally the Forza is running without any noticeable vibes but this runs even smoother, pulling forge is improved and for the first time
the rear end break out coming out of a corner
Intuitive it feels that the clutch now may catch/lock faster, something to look at
Soon I will shoot a new video to see the actual results.

If the rear end is spinning up coming out of corners you might want to think about traction control.
