Well I got the Forza to the first oil/filter change. 58 miles today and at 609 miles in total. Now to find out how to do it. Have the oil, filter, and crush washer. I had the Mobius set at 720P and only 30 FPS. We shall see how it looks. There was a strong south wind this afternoon and it got into the low 60s. I do like having power to the camera and LG G3 (acting as GPS).

I thought is was pretty cool to finally see a spin on filter on a scooter......just like a real motor vehicle! Bought a box of the filters (I do freq oil changes on all my vehicles. For.decades.).....and in each parts bag was another of those big cap/sockets for the filter!
Second time I ordered filters for a bit less and.they came without those sockets. Fish
Might sell off all my spares in ebay

We got out today too. 45 degrees F. Amazing for around here. Never dreamed that we would still be riding this late into the season and on the day after Christmas!

A little sad though. Went to the little town where our favorite coffee shop use to be. As you can see it just and empty place.
There is a Starbucks a few stores down that we were able to get a coffee at. Still not the same. But, it will have to do for now.
After coffee cruised along the water for a bit and when the sun stared going down we headed for home. John has his dark visor on. We did 50 miles.

It was unseasonably warm yesterday but I feel the temperature falling fast now

Got again to day. Rode about 40 miles in 48 degree temps. It was overcast and misty. had to use my mitt to wipe my visor. I used my toe and mitt warmers. And was a good thing since the wind was blowing at around 16 mph. Did not see any other two wheeled vehicles out today. Yesterday we saw 11 riders getting their time in before the real cold weather hits.

The ride was still fun with the poor weather. The temps are going down hill and doubt we'll see upper 40s for a while. Winter is here!

I have a set of them filter sockets for both American and foreign cars. Hopefully, one is small enough. If not I also have a variable strap filter remover and a large special oil filter grip set of clamp pliers. You can't have too many tools. One of them will work. I also bought myself a hydraulic cycle lift and will see how that works although the clearance is real good on the Forza for the drain plug and is in an open location.

Sounds like the big guy squeezed out the little guy maybe? My wife says Starbucks bothers her stomach.

Steph that's a pretty fancy building for a coffee shop....seems you'd have to sell a lot of coffee to make the overhead. My three coffee shops are in very old buildings....and look to be very much handmade. All bits of furniture are either homemade or wonderfully mismatched, but comfy. My local Tim Hortons will need decades to reach this level of ambiance.

@fish - They seemed to do good business even with the Starbucks near by. My brother preferred Starbucks and we liked Peets. He would ride his bicycle and meet us there. We would sometimes sit in front of Peets at the tables provided. Only a memory now.

On yesterday's ride we kept an eye our for a new place and didn't see anything other then Starbucks and Biggby. Might have to go for Tim Hortons.

I changed the filter, oil, crush washer on the Forza at 609 miles and then took a 26 mile ride. It was 36 F but sunny and windless. I stayed between 30 and 50 and never got cold. Even my hands and feet were good. The oil change on the Forza is even easier than the PCX if that is possible. You do need to top it off a bit once the filter fills up.

Been out recently in 1-2 degrees C (35ish Fahrenheit).

Layers:
Vest
T- shirt
Sweater
Hoodie
Motorcycle jacket with thermal lining

Gloves, two pairs of socks, scarf.

Need to buy myself a balaclava tomorrow then I'll be sorted apart from the legs! Maybe longjohns are in order...

Get that balaclava.....one with longer tails on front and back if you can find.... and rain pants over jeans will help the legs.....Slider kevlar jeans even better.
These two additional layers will help a lot!!

I am using Columbia insulated Bibb's over my jeans and three pairs of wool socks in snowmobile boots and snowmobile/sports Gortex Thinsulate gloves as well as a balaclava. Then a t-shirt, Long sleeve shirt, and sweater under the Fulmer jacket and a Hi-Viz vest. It is good for another ten degrees lower or so if I don't ride around at higher speeds I have determined.

I would also recommend adding the toe and hand warmers. Hand warmers work well with mittens. Not so well with gloves.

Steph, (excuse me for one moment peeps), I was just wondering how you're liking the HJC machine helmet? It certainly is a steal price wise now. Hard to resist. Oh, I noticed you added yellow (hi-vis?) dots in areas. Did you do that for more visibility or another reason?

Missed the Warmer weather today, 54. I spent it at the nursing home with Mom. Sis and I set up a new 39" flatscreen tv that We bought her for Christmas. Have to say, me Mom really knows how to smile Wide
Now praying for one more (or two?) semi warm days to ride away....anywhere.

@WhiteNoise - I felt that my helmet needed more Hi-Viz. The helmet is good. But it's no Shoei. Some day I would like to upgrade. The differences with higher end helmets is they usually come in different shell sizes. Instead of one size fits all and have bigger stuffing inside for smaller sizes such as medium and under.

I think we may have had the last of our above 40 degree temps for a while. Deep freeze is coming our way.

We are 40 F today but then below 40 until Saturday (well 39 on Thursday). I may have to take a short ride today on a work break.

The Schuberth C3 is well worth the money if you ride alot, enjoy the performance of cutting edge gear and can afford it. It makes all other helmets look like lolipop heads as it is 7/8 the size.

I switched helmets (GMax GM54S modular) with my Harley buddy who has a Shoei Quest for about 30 miles since we are both XL size some time ago. His shell was actually as big as mine. It was a fraction lighter (not modular) but fogged up more. Comfort wise was a toss-up but it was just a bit quieter from the wind. Was it worth the 2+ times more ($140 vs. $300) that he paid for it? No way. The modular is still easier to get on and off. I need to try a Shoei modular Neotec but they are about $600.
