I'm leaning towards the Shoei RF 1200 Beacon.

They are nice helmets. I like the red and black mix colors they offer to match my stuff. i am hooked on a modular helmet at this point - especially when trying to put it on with winter gear.

i contacted GMax and here is the solution to any fogging for my helmet. Every review I read said they work great but another $85. I am also looking at Bluetooth for my LG G3 in the helmet.

You would go back to a full face after owning a modular?

My Husband owns the modular. I have the full face. the Modular is a temptation. After a little research, the full face seems to be safer and quieter.

Just a bit too costly for my budget (and...Santa missed that on my "need it" list ) I shall have one, someday. In the meantime I happily say, that my Shoei and Nolan comfortably protect my head.

Why is it that Schuberth's rarely go on sale and when they do, it's no big deal?

When looking at the review for the Schuberth C3, I didn't like the ventilation though the rear of the neck roll material. also If I remember right, the chin curtain was non-removable. Not good for really hot weather.

@you you - it's 16 degrees F. here right now. A little on the chilly side for me. fish would ride in this temp.

The ventilation system with the exit at the rear neck is so extremely effective, I wish the chin vent had a halfway position sometimes as it can be a bit drying to the eyes. The chin curtain is removable but I would never think of taking mine out as this is where all the noise comes in with regular full face helmets. The Schuberth is the warmest and most fogfree helmet in the type of weather we normally get in the North East USA. Modular helmets are so much easier to put on and off and it is very handy to flip up the face to fill up, stop off to talk for a second or take a quick look at a map. The pinlock works perfect as does the adjustable, pop down sunvisor. Two features I wouldn't do without on any helmet. It's also not possible to experience the aerodynamic advantage of the smaller overall shell size and rounded profile of the chin area until you do some highway riding on windy days where you see how much your old helmet is yanking your head around as the wind comes up under the chin. More so at 75 mph on my 250 but nicer at any speed nonetheless. I am not a believer in the old school recommendation of throwing away a perfectly good helmet every few years and plan to ride with mine for another 20+ years. They can be had on ebay for $500 if you know your size. Buy any helmet in white or hivis of course.

My cell phone read "12 -feels like 2" when I rode to work in the dark this morning.
Before coming home on my Chinese Kymco I snapped this pic, (I don't abuse my Honda on cold days like this - because I doubt it gets this cold in Thailand.)

"2 degrees", if you are waiting for a bus....but a deuce of a lot cooler than that if you are duct-taped to the front of that bus.
I told my wife, "If it gets much colder I'm going to stop taking the long way to work on my scooter!"

@sendler2112 - It's good on hot summer days? If so, Will have to consider this helmet.

I got my Schuberth on ebay so it is black. Or else I would have ordered white. It is hot in the sun if you get stuck in traffic like I did coming home from Ohio one year. Bikes were overheating on the side of the road as we duck walked through road construction for an hour. I don't have anything to compare it to hot wise. That was my first helmet. But I guess you could take out the chin curtain if you wanted. Honestly, a good modular has alot going for it practicality wise. When I am just running out for food on the scooter in the summer, I wear an LS2 3/4. It has a nice, full bubble shield and also has a pop down sun shield.

40 F here but muddy in the yard. When I drove the Forza from the walk-out back to the garage it was spinning with any gas at all and slipping around. So much for the cleaning.

Got barely above freezing here but with the wind was amazingly cold out. Monday high will be 15 F. Scoot will be garage bound for awhile.

We are good for two more days (40s) before it goes arctic on us too (highs in the 20s). This time of year I have the Battery Tenders and covers on everything anyway. It only takes seconds to unplug it and uncover it if Old Man Winter takes a nap.
