12 degrees F. Snow showers with a possible of 4 inches and thunder. Yes, thunder!

Its weird up here in the igloo (Canada), we are 32f and burried in fog. We have been for nearly a week. I feel safer in the driving rain and wind compardes to fog.

Don't you have about the mildest winter climate in Canada?

We do as a rule, however we usually have our share of near freezing temperatures and 2-4 snowfalls. None if which lasts more than a week, just a reminder to us how lucky we are. The fog and lack of any snow is unusual for us. Probably my fault, insured the atv, put on the snow plough, have a few snow removal jobs set up. Then.....along came Murphy's Law!

I am seeing quite a warmup in the next several weeks forecast. Above 50 F.

They say 33 F today and clear. That might be enough for some short variator testing.

Just did 25 miles (testing the variator) and it says it is up to 32 F now but clear and sunny. It was a very pleasant ride.

It was 1.5 degrees F. this morning when I got up. Anything above freezing would be a blessing around here. 12 degrees F. now.

Apparently another "weather bomb" coming to hit the UK this week.

Cold I can deal with. It's 30 MPH winds that make me fear for my life.

Been very strong winds of late, at times almost pushed across the whole width of the lane - and forecast to be very heavy rain for most of today - looks like me and the scoot are going to get wet later on. Later years we've been lucky in that in the UK at least, we do not have the heavy snow-bound winters we used to have - may get some snow Feb time.

They missed on the ice storm. It's 35 F sunny and 5 mph wind. I may need a lunch time rise.

We got about 5 inches over the night. My husband wanted to go for a little ride in the neighbor hood after work. I talked him out of it.

@Sacha - 30 MPH winds is to much for our scoots.

Things will improve. 40 on Thursday and 50 on Friday - Sunday if they get lucky and are correct.

At present I'd rather have it a bit colder and dry than have constant driving rain falling on me. Was very heavy rain going home yesterday but I was dry, my clothes just holding up, however still pouring coming in to work this morning and the waterproofs didn't do so well this time as my waterproof trousers let so much rain in it was running down my leg and my 'seat' area wet through! (even my gore-tex boots are wet inside and I had the waterproofs over the cuffs). My jacket also let some rain in. Ah well, should be dry by the time I go home.

Why does everyone use Fahrenheit for temps? I always think in Celsius for cold weather i.e. if its -1C you know its gonna be icy etc, also the weather reports are always in Celsius so...just curious!

USA still learns temp F and mph. It is ingrained. 12C means nothing to me without a conversion. Sorry.

No rain - and 4 Fahrenheit for my 5:30AM ride in to work today.
The only tricky bit was the first 50 feet - and last 50 feet - due to the ice by my house.
Took a cell phone snap after arriving at work - then another once home this afternoon.

Fish - not looking forward to when the snow comes to London - %30 chance this weekend apparently but they are often wrong. There is lots of snow about 200 miles away which isn't that far as the weather creeps along the country.
As my jacket and armoured trousers got soaked through two days ago (heavy constant rain to home and back to work was too much for it), and it's pouring down this morning, I added a poncho to the outfit which kept my top half dry and my 'seat area' as the poncho was long enough wrap under and reach the knees! Only thing it the winds were so strong, and the poncho was the side fastening kind, it's ripped to peaces due to the winds. However, it proves a proper vinyl/plastic over-cover is what is needed as the jacket and trousers (not my waterproofs) can't cope with too much heavy rain. May see what bike gear is out there for water-proofness rather than protection from falls.

Basic rain jacket and pants are cheap at any department store.
