They're not cheap it's true, but they are tested to full face standards I think.

Mine isn't too heavy, but then again, I have a thick neck from playing hockey. I could ride around with a cinder block on my head and probably wouldn't notice it...

It weighs just slightly more than my normal full face helmet. I wouldn't even have noticed the difference if I hadn't just gone and picked them both up simultaneously to compare.

Same here, mine doesnt feel very heavy. Then again ive never had anything to compare it to.

I just bought a Shark Vision-r full face and it just fits under the seat. Seat bends a bit but no harder to lock than normal Helmet has an internal tinted visor as well as the clear visor so I can flick that down. Still use my open face a lot as like the better vision and cooling (its summer here).

I have a HJC IS-16 Touring MC 5, fits better than most Ive tried. Was pretty reasonable at £160.

Was looking at getting a flip up lid but none had the fit i was looking for.

Flip lids tend to be bigger, heavier, noiser and less comfortable.

exactly what i felt when i tried one on. Just didnt feel 'right'

Ive actually decided my seat locks easier when bending the seat around my full face helmet. Anyone adjusted the seat lock mechanism?

You're supposed to take your head out of the helmet before closing the seat...

The seat lock mechanism is a bit sketchy... I haven't adjusted mine, but I agree, it latches more firmly if the cargo area is overflowing, and bowing the seat up a bit.

Nice looking lid. Definitely not my style though.

I like flip front lids as they are easier to put on with glasses. I was using a Caberg Justissimo but have recently upgraded to a Shoei Multitec

Only other lid I use is a Davida open-face but now I have a PCX I've made a promise to myself to be more safety conscious and wear something with chin protection. The Davida is a lovely helmet but offers no protection to the face.

Nolan N43 Air. Open for city riding. Going for longer trip I attach front part and get full face protection and warmth.

Those multitecs are awesome! Got one myself in white. Dont know why I keep getting white helmets

Wanted a White Multitec but got an awesome deal on a black one so went with that instead.
£240 GBP / 11,400 THB. It was brand new in the box. Just couldn't get a better deal if i'd tried. Snapped it up

There are some good deals going on the multitec now because it is being replaced by the Neotec, I have one of each now as my Multitec is coming to the end of it's 'shelf' life (had it about 4 1/2 years now)

There's also the New Shoei GT Air that will come between the Multitec & the Neotec. All Modulars. The GT Air not too bad weight wise but like most modulars more than my Shoei Qwest FF. I'd like to try a GT on when they arrive. Pre-orders being taken now (US) at just under $500 online. The sun shield sounds like a winner

Apollo-jize folks for what I stated above, the newly introduced Shoei GT Air helmet is Not a modular hat Cripes I was so excited reading about this one, that I then drempt it was a flip-up Slap my hand and set me back 10 steps
It's a "Full Face." The Shoei Gt Air is nicely equipped, reasonably light weight and uses the same integrated sun visor as their most recently introduced Shoei Neotec (a modular).

I like the Shoei Air GT too, it's quite expensive though, a good middle range is the Nolan.. All about compromise especially with a scoot :p

^^^ any particular Nolan? 103, 104, N90? What say you mdouglas71 which hat am I looking at?
Me? A scoot, or a motorcycle, I still have my same head on me shoulders wanting to be protected. Not preaching, just sayin' no diff to me that it's a scoot. I agree, Nolan lids are good quality for the money. If I could spring for a Shoei Neotec, Arai RX-Q or Corsair I would. But then only one...hate choosing though.
