Did people stop picking those smart cars up and setting them on there tail... that was some of the funniest pranks, and even the owners were cracking up on the news. Guy goes out to find his car on its azz straight up in the front yard
I'd have more respect for the the poor thing if they didn't call it an iSomething or other

I think the design is interesting, but electric vehicles have a flaw when used like a scooter or motorcycle. We ride them for fun and we don't want to be constantly reminded that we need to have enough juice to be able to return home. There are quite a few electric cars in our area, but most of them can go no further than 100 miles between charges. We double that just riding for fun. If we were to have one of these i-Roads we would not be able to use them for much. Imagine going grocery shopping. Where do you put them? About the only use I can see for these is for workers who do not live far from work. How many would venture onto a freeway with one of these? No me!!

Google smart car accident images and you might not be so quick to test one.

No one would have survived that 70 mph impact in a car anyway. You would have had a better chance on your scooter in that particular crash test.

Indeed!....airbourne, forward across the pond, perhaps visiting 2yous (afterall)
Was it my eyes or did that concrete wall appear angled? Afterall the Passenger side faired better after the meet
2yous you're onto something. We are motorbike riders. We're no Smarter. The "Smart" car really is a motorbike with complete Full-er fairings. We ride nakid!(e). Yeah I'd try a Smart Car. Just for the Fun of it! On some fallish "Country Road" cruising, radio blasting @ 35-45mph....In High-Def
In closing, I'd be dead hurt in a face-off with a concrete wall @ 70mph using either

I've got a smart. 1.0 turbo. I use it for commuting and it's just the job for that. It doesn't like the traffic calming bumps but apart from that it's great fun.

Had one tail me for over 300km at average speed of 110kmh last January. It was driven by an attractive young lady, and she passed me a number of times and then appeared to tire, or lose concentration.
I drive a VW Golf R, and am happy cruising all day at speed on long trips. The Smart car is not a car I would be happy driving over any long distance, but I can see the advantages around the city.
