Re: 2015 pcx150 performance thread
My 2013 PCX150 had the top speed decline to 63 after 1,000 miles of break in of the belt. DrPulley sliders got it back up to 67 and there is a thread showing how to mill the inner stop surface of the stock variator to get a couple more mph without spending any money.

Re: 2015 pcx150 performance thread
Decided to do some more tweaking on my scooters today. Swapped the 13G NCY rollers I had onto the 2015 that has the NCY varie and drive face. Ran it on the stand...79mph. Also through the NCY clutch Bell on there since it's been a long time and rolled down the street on it. Takes off a bit harder, but not worth the sacrafice in to speed or accelerated belt wear or other potential issues.
Swapped the OEM 2015 rollers onto the 2013 (from 18g to 16g).
Took the 2015 out for an identical 12 mile loop that I did last week and got 113.9mpg. Today, same trip yielded 120.5mpg with 13g vs. 16g rollers last time. Also, the scooter definitely pulls harder after that short lag on takeoff (which strangely enough one of my 2013's doesn't have while the other one did!). Though maybe the prev owner could have modded the clutch bell so tried swapping those but nope, didn't help. So, must be something internal, or just lucky? I dunno!
Also, the drive belt on the 2015 is grooved! Very strange. But I'm guessing it's done to decrease resistance as it travels the tight radius especially when traveling low on the pulleys. Maybe that's where part of the additional 8mpg manufacturer claimed mpg comes from on the 2015 compared to the 2013?
Ok, gotta go. BTW, I run the lightweight bell from the NCY unit on the back with the stock secondary slider. The 1.5oz prob doesn't hardly do anything really.

I appreciate all this, waiting for the shock and awe moment when you get satisfactory results on the 2015. What's gained and what's lost by these weights and drive faces is interesting. I admit I don't care to experiment like you do but somebody will do it and it might as well be you. You seem to have the time and passion plus you are one of the few wiling who has a 2015. Make sure homie acknowledges when you sort this out, I don't want to miss it.

Re: 2015 pcx150 performance thread
Thanks Homie! I think I'm there. I have no interest in doing the work of pulling the motor apart to fit a taller gear inside to gain top speed that way, but willing to do the easy stuff with the trans.
Really wish I lived right off a freeway exit so I could test top speed on the fly. THe clutches have different contra spring colors and different part # on the secondary sliders between the 2013 and 2015 and so I thought I might be able to feel some difference. I forgot to test out to see if one (2013 vs 2015) would have given me the superior top speed, or if it top speed 2013 vs 2015 is truly an internal gearing difference as stated before by someone else. I was too busy swapping the clutches looking for differences in takeoff. Looks like I may have given myself another project! =P I thought I felt that the spring pressure on the clutch of the 2013 was lighter than the 2015 when I was squeezing it to run the belt back through it on reassembly.
But really, I'm quite pleased with where everything is at for the moment. Next time I order some OEM parts I'll get a few new belts for each scooter and see what the absolute best top speed is.
So, to recap, 2015 or 2013, best setup so far is NCY vario and NCY drive face with 13g NCY rollers for a total cost of about $115 shipped from http://www.corsportusa.com and Amazon (rollers).

Re: 2015 pcx150 performance thread
Finally got the 2015 on the freeway. 76mph downhill with 1k miles on the bike (belt). A new belt may help...not sure I want to waste the $30 to get one more mph at this point. Basically, my other 2013 that I just sold would go 77mph when it was new and had dropped to 76mph by the time that belt got to 900 miles. So, maybe the 2015 will be the same? That's what it seems like to me.
Got ridiculous good mpg even on the freeway today. 115mpg. The secret is to stay around 65 to maybe 70 and tuck down whenever possible.

77 down hill with the after market variator. What is the honest, flat road top speed?

Ok.. so we need a 'what to buy for Dummies' so we can tweak our 2015's anytime we get tired of 64mph. I think I faved your NYC parts website already and if I'm not mistaken rollers or sliders off amazon of a certain weight?

Re: 2015 pcx150 performance thread
Same...with my 150lb self on there. Obviously, wind plays a role. A bit of wind and out in the open, may be less, but on the freeway, flat, in moderate fast moving traffic in a tuck, I was hitting 75-76mph. =)sendler2112 wrote:77 down hill with the after market variator. That's all you need!!! If you have several thousand miles on your drive belt already, you may want a new one of those too. =)

Sooterman, thanks for pioneering these parts and application on the 2015's. I've faved the links and have confidence no harm will come from installing them. After new tires I might feel the need to claw back any MPH lost. This mod should be satisfactory for me and within my abilities... Good man!

Scooterman, you mention 13gram and linked 15gram rollers... are you undecided?

Re: 2015 pcx150 performance thread
The parts you linked say they are for the 125. They work on the 150?
This
http://www.amazon.com/NCY-Weights-varia ... cx+13+gram
combined with the above links, is the best combo for top speed in your opinion?
I currently hit my rev limiter at 63 MPH (gps), downhill or flatland. 2013 PCX 150, 5k miles on it.
Re: 2015 pcx150 performance thread

If you're only going 63mph, you need a new drive belt as well to get another 4-5mph back as your scooter should top out at 68mph new. All these parts with a new belt should get you going 77mph or so.

Re: 2015 pcx150 performance thread
My 2013 PCX150 never went faster than 66 mph when it was new. And quickly went down to 63 with 2,000 miles on it. A set of sliders got me back up to 67 where it has stayed for the next 14,000 miles even though the belt is worn 1.1mm.
