On the PCX I did end up removing the grab rail. Once that was off, catching the license plate wire was easy and neat. Look a bit before you drill the hole - I went just under the light, but should have drilled a couple of mm higher to make the run a bit easier. There are some plastic ridges under the fender that can be worked around if you notice they are there before you merrily start drilling.
Forza was easier. Didn't have to remove much of anything except a plastic liner under the fender. Drilled the hole, fed the wire behind, then threaded it into the license plate light housing. The connections supplied with the vololight is excellent and easy to use.
Well my lovely PCX is no more. Rear ended at a stop light.
