That will be part of the eval, for sure. Not hard to measure once the plug is out. Looking at the pix I received, it appears quite a bit shorter than the plug. I'll make an accurate measurement of the drain hole's depth once I have the valve in-hand.

Okay, I got that Femco oil drain valve on my '13 150 today. As advertised, it's a "close fit" at the hex section to the forward case rib. As the valve hits the supplied copper washer, the hex JUST tags the rib at a point. The rib is tapered and is slightly wider as it meets the rest of the case. Not enough that I couldn't turn it past by hand, but it did hit. The bad part is tightening it. It's a 7/8" (22mm) hex. That area of the case is a "pocket" and so it was tough to get on the hex easily to crush the copper washer. I can't get exactly horizontal on the hex (good thing it's on the large side in that way). I borrowed a "trimmed" open-end crow's foot (tip radii ground down thin, like tweezers) and was able to get it done without badly boogering up the flats. As you can see from the pix the threaded length is shorter than the boss on the case (even without the washer) so getting all the oil out is assured. The drain hose fitting fits on without hitting the forward rib. The best part is that with the cap on, it extends only about a mil below the forward rib. No worries, there. I recommend it if you can put up with the small hassle of tightening the valve down on the install. I'm keeping it.
Nice product. Made in Holland. Good double o-ring on the cap and high-temp Viton for the oil valve's inner tapered cork.

Thanks! The scallop to do would be a decent, maybe 3 MM deep to accommodate a thin-wall socket, ideally.
Here's the link to Femco: http://www.femcodrainplug.com/index.php The valve part# is: 7090010152. The hose (I chose the straight) # is: 750001.

The Femco looks identical to this one https://www.nospillsystems.com/products-parts.cfm

They appear to be the same , Mine is stamped "Femco" and it came from Amarillo TX. Here's the link, again: http://www.femcodrainplug.com/index.php
I called and spoke with Kyle Ottmers. Here's a shot of the container it came in.
@RRocket, they call out 25 ft lbs. I went till I could feel the washer yielding. All good after a 15 mile cruise this evening.

Hmm...so which do you use? 25 or 18...I'm guessing 18 since that is what it takes to crush the OEM washer?

Brass and aluminium. If you CAN use a torque wench on it I'd advise no more than 18 ft lbs. Like I posted, I stopped when I felt the washer yielding. Not difficult to judge and no leaks present.

I would vac it out as well. Many options on oil evacuation pumps, and hand held suckers as well. I do use a fomoto valve on my truck and it does work nicely, but if I lived in a condo situation I would either drive to a convenient location and change the oil or suck it out wherever it sits. No getting under it is necessary when you suck it out.
