WN - I'm finding it very difficult to dig out of the "Vida" or "23" thing. Maybe gn2 has the ticket . . . time will tell. :?

That said, in the mean time, and in the spirit of 23, here is a "Twenty Three" related Alice in Chains documentary to keep the post alive for a bit longer. I was going to post this under "Today's Humor" but decided it truly is more of a music thing.

Take a listen to what these folks have to say . . . don't miss out.   8)

We're still at Sea...
the "Sea of Heartbreak" - Don Gibson

Flashback - it's early 60's - my uncle's visiting from Texas. He steps out of his brand new 1964 Black Buick Wildcat (what a beauty!) He's wearing his finest pair of cowboy boots and Stetson hat. He's Smiling Wide. In hand he's carrying a stackful of 45 rpm's. He tells me to play them (on my parents console record player) :D
This 45 was among them:

He sang and danced.
A fond memory

Whitenoise my mom's Wildcat was a dark green metallic fastback. Most of the time it just putted around the local small town and my dad was afraid it would carbon up,so he told my
mom to punch it whenever she went to the city. There was a long one mile straight hill outside of town and she would plant the throttle at the bottom, kind of funny and scary at the same time.

A an old friend of mine's Father had a Wildcat Convertible. One night we took it for a ride and got "air" . . .. Couldn't believe it. That thing could haul. The road was like a moguled ski slope.

relic, I'll have to google the fastback model, I don't recall seeing one. Cool!
Hahaha! We called that, "Pedal to the metal, metal to the floor!" I drove mostly local too as a teen. My Dad must've been pals with yours because he always told me (without Mom's ears about), to "Punch it" every so often. Same reason: blow the carbon buildup out. Ok, I can do that :D He added, do it on open level straight car free roads o_O Wow! How cool is that, I actually got permission to Floor It? Best Dad EVER!
But wait....
I blamed him later when I told him I was pulled over by a cop. 'Twas early a.m. hours and we were heading home on an fairly empty highway from my sister's. My older brother driving his Cougar me, my Javelin. It was a 40 minute drive home, speed limit 60mph. With cars side by side we gave each other "that look" and punched it as far as we could and Fast!
Till.....lights and sirens were on our arse. Crap! Hearts beating in our throats we pulled over. Cop reemed us out. I told Him that my Dad instructed us to speed every so often to clear the carbs out. He frowned. He had us sit squirming for a good 20 mins till he let us go, saying Never Again. As if we were spanked we replied, No Sir - Never!
Woot, no tickets. Nice Cop after all.
relic, I Still hear Dad's voice, "Punch It!" and I respectfully do :D

And now back to our local radio station...WPCXN 8)
