Maddiedog...How is the comfort of this seat? This is the same one I was looking at a few weeks ago.

It's more comfortable than any other chair I own. I can do about 400 miles before my butt starts itching, but that's a factor of me not wearing lycra or spandex bicycling shorts, they solve that. I get no muscle soreness whatsoever.
I forgot to update this thread after I got the 170cc kit in... I'm still tweaking it, but the thread on the bore kit is here:

I also added foglights:

Up close, they mount where the reflector on the mudflap used to:

Switch... It was like $3.50 on ebay.

Painted the wheels white last night with Plastidip. It turned out ok. Looks great from more than a foot away.

Me and the pup are going to the Resurgence Scooter Rally tonight. If you're in Atlanta, you should come check it out. It's always a lot of fun. Rally page here:

Hmmm... Very cool thread. I'm up the road in Chattanooga, but I'd love to go to one of these rally's sometime.
(and my fiancee just told me I can't take the cat or dog for a ride). LOL

In my opinion that's the color pattern Honda should have opted for with their white PCX's. Brings a classy look to the scoot and I hope looks as well with the black forks. I'm having this done soon. One thing the powdercoat people ask me was what is on the black factory rims now... I still don't have an answer for them.

White wheels Look great on your scoot Dave! I remember you wanting to do this when member alleykat was active on here. Wish he would come back. What a difference the white makes!

Loves those rims! My wife said they look good enough that we should consider red for our rims. I think I will go for the red reflective tape instead, not that the color is bad, but I don't want to take my bike apart any more than necessary...especially after the problems we just got fixed. Still, those wheels look awesome!

By the way Dave, those lights I installed like yours work out well. I have noticed that cars notice us much more so when I have those lights on than when I have them off, so I ride with them on most of the time now.

It's the end of an era... The last few pictures of my PCX.

She was the first and only vehicle I've ever bought new. I had so much fun on her, and have so many good memories. It's the only inanimate object I've ever felt a sentimental attachment to as an adult. It was really hard to let her go.
My riding time has become more and more limited since becoming a father, so the PCX was just sitting. I put over 5000 miles on it the first year I owned her, but put less than 500 miles on it in the last year. Only 500 miles... I felt like that was just not right. Bikes are made to be ridden, especially a fine piece of machinery like the PCX. I was doing a disservice by letting her rot in my garage, only cranking her up every month or so to make sure the battery stayed good. I had to sell her to someone who would ride her and adventure on her.
I posted it for sale, and it sold to the 2nd guy who came to look at it. Here's the ad I posted:

The gentleman who bought it is named Gary. Gary's a few years younger than my parents, and adventures on his Harleys a LOT. He bought it for his wife to ride, for a friend of his to learn on, and for his grandkids to one day learn on. The PCX will be making a trip with him and his friends out to Montana to ride all over, through Yellowstone park and all sorts of other places. It's in good hands, and is going on to more adventures in more exotic locations than I have had the means to ride to. I couldn't have asked for a better buyer; he'll treat her well.
The last picture I took of her, before loading her onto Gary's trailer.

Gary drove off into the sunset, PCX in tow. It was almost poetic, you can see how beautiful the sky was. I couldn't watch him drive away with it, and had to turn away.
Before anyone gets worried, I'm not going anywhere. I like this site and will keep on posting, supporting, and running it. This site has become much more than just the PCX to me. It's a great community, through which I've made several friends.
When Noah gets old enough to ride, I'll pick up a PCX for him to learn on. They're durable enough that I should be able to find one with relative ease.

In the meantime, me and Maddie will keep riding on our V-Strom on those rare occasions when I can get away for a weekend.

Ahh geez, I knew this day would come and here it is. Sorry
Dave. Sad for sure. Your scoot was (still is) a beauty, and I'll miss seeing it here. Funny it almost sounds like you hand picked your buyer, that certainly made for a better selling experience. I hope you kept the hard copy of your service manual as a keepsake. 2011 (sold in 2010), the first year of the U.S. PCX 125 in 2 colors (am I right?) red and White (White being the fastest

. Those of us who wanted one were so anxious to find one to buy...and we did, even at a distance.
Well your White is still in good hands. He got a helluva deal for an outstanding custom loved scoot! Along with maddie's tush cushion
Who knows, maybe one day you'll surprise us with a thread that says...."This was such a deal, I couldn't pass it up! A 20_ _ PCX 250 ABS!"
Time ... will ... tell

Dave, I will miss your little bike. You disassembled it so many times and made so many how-to threads that many of us became our own 'pros' at tearing ours apart. You taught me a lot about these scooters, and you gave me confidence to do most of my own service. I am sure that I will be coming to you again for things I still can't do, though.
On another note, I am sure the new owner will enjoy it. It was and still is a little rocket.
