The bearings that go are the Driven Clutch bearings, both inner and outer. Buy the assembly rather than trying to press out the old bearings. My mechanics had to call all over the United States to find the bearings. I understand that one of them is an odd size.

The assembly is pretty inexpensive but it took a few months for it to arrive.

17,000 miles and no problems with my clutch bearings.

My dealer said he had changed several over the last two years but I have no idea how many PCX's there are in the area near them. That is the only reason I bought one (and they are inexpensive).

I think the clutch bearing is away in mine. If I run it up on the stand it sounds normal but as soon as the wheel stops and the clutch starts to freewheel its noisy as f**k.
A new one I think. I'll get the driven face instead of mucking about with the bearings.
The number is 23205-kwn-640 according to the parts site I was on.

Just to let everyone know, the extended warranty, both from Honda and a third party, exclude anything that has to do with the clutch, which is considered expendable parts, even if it craps out too early. Our third party warranty had a specific exclusion page....that the dealer conveniently did not give us a copy of.
Now on to other things related to this. If your bike sounds like it is going to come apart while you are riding it, with the sound of bolts bouncing around being the norm for the area where the variator sits, time to order the replacement assembly. This would usually show up between 7,000 and 10,000 miles. They say that only a minor amount of these scooters have this problem. However, it is enough of a problem that multiple dealers have had at least a couple of these bikes in for this problem. Add a "couple" of bikes by at least half of the dealers in the United States and the problem is no longer minor. Honda knows this but they aren't going to do anything about it, so just buy the assembly and fix it yourself.

It sounds a lot like that, except worse. Ours sounded so bad that we thought something had broken loose back there. Imagine that sound, but add a bad bearing to it and then put the cover on and the sound will magnify. If you do a search on Google for Honda PCX clutch bearing noise you will see that there have been quite a few write-ups and requests for help on this problem. If you go to a repair shop and they mention that they have worked on a few other PCX scooters with this problem, multiply that by thousands to represent the number of repair shops everywhere that have also worked on "a few" ; you will get a better idea of how wide spread this problem is by doing this. It doesn't affect all of the PCX scooters, but even a few in a single area will represent itself as a greater problem when you look at the whole picture. It was so bad for a while the replacement kits were on back order for 6 months. Honda is aware of the problem, but they are hoping that it occurs after the warranty period expires. E tended warranties don't usually cover it.

i have had the problem for around a year but it was a lot quieter to start with and i was told by a mechanic it was nothing to worry about but since then its been getting louder so one day i decided to take everything out of the variator casing and start the bike and spin the back wheel backwards to see if it still made the noise, all was silent no abnormal noises so i'm putting it down to one of the 2 bearings in the clutch area, either number 18 or 19 in the diagram attached. A mechanic confirmed he had just fixed this issue on another pcx and quoted me £60 if i take just the clutch wheel assembly in or £150 if i take the bike in, i am going to change the part myself but because i dont have the tool needed to take the bearing out i have ordered the complete unit from the US(number 8 in the diagram) its costing me £25 for the part(a massive £105+p&p if i order from the UK) and £20 delivery.
I am no mechanic but am confident in working in the variator housing its very easy take apart with basic tools and a impact wrench or clutch/variator holding tool. i have been checking and greasing the bearings periodically for the last few months and up to now the bearings have not crumbled on me!
Seems a bit funny that they are out of stock of the part everywhere and on back order with honda, after many of hour online searching it seems a lot of pcx owners seem to experience this issue(seems more common with 2012/13 models) i wonder why that is because they are the exact same part number in all pcx models. maybe they used different grease or did not use enough during this production year i dont know but it seems weird that so many owners from this year are experiencing this issue.
I'll post an update as soon i receive and install the part

From what I recall those two bearings were pressed in. I'm sure there are others here who would know more than I do about it, but I believe my mechanic said that was one of the problems. They had to find a machine shop to press the bearings out and in.

Getting them in is easy enough, it's getting them out its more the problem as I think you need a blind bearing puller because you can't get in to knock it out. These a circling on it as well to get into.
