I have found out in the past that when I check the oil at the service station the concrete pads are not always level as they should be. If I use a particular pump, the oil level reads the same each time. If I use another pump, my oil reading can be way off. Although visually the pads look to be very close to level. Hence I have gotten a "feel" of the oil level as normal just so long as it is on the dip stick to a marked degree.
Lastly I always check the oil at each fill up, even if I am in a hurry. It only takes a second and its the perfect time as the engine is hot and will get the best reading this way.
There must be a logical reason as to your very low oil level reading since you are not showing any leaks.

Any competent dealer would check the oil after setting the valves.

DO drain that overstressed oil out and put in fresh.
Not much can be done about it now - after a call to the dealer to see if they noticed anything unusual when they did the valves.
Keep an eye on the dipstick.
A couple of explanations come to mind ...but non that help the situation now.
Can a HONDA run 50 miles WOT on a cup of oil? Might have.

I'm going to drain it and refill. I have no idea why it was so low. I'll be making it a practice to check at each station stop. I'll keep you posted

I use Amsoil synthetic 10w30. You think Amsoil might be prone to burning more or shearing more? I thought it was good quality.

While your at it, maybe check the final drive oil.

I'm a newb. Where can I check the final drive oil?

Thanks fish. All caught up on final drive info. Question for everyone. Is it okay to put 10w40 in the final drive? I'm thinking of using 10w40 in my oil rather than 10w30 due to WOT on my commute and warmer temps coming in the summer here soon. I ride spring/summer/fall with temps ranging from 45-60 in the morning up to 100 in the afternoon. But is it okay for 10w40 in the final drive?

Thanks you you. Another question for my newbiness. I have Amsoil 10w40 full syn motorcycle oil, but it's rated JASO MA/MA2. Does the MB really matter? Or should I consider getting a 10w40 JASO MB?

Changed the oil this weekend to 10w40. Also checked the final drive and the oil was flowing out. The oil looked like it was in new condition so I didn't change the final drive.

Not sure about that. I dropped mine out and it was clear enough but quite a few metal particles drained out

Maybe on my next oil change I'll be tempted to drain it out. But the oil looked good after 2800mi. Maybe around 4k-5k ill change it

Regarding the oil being low from the dealers, a lot of dealers don't check the oil right.

You're supposed to:
- Put the PCX on the centerstand on level ground
- Take out the dipstick, clean it
- Insert the dipstick. Don't screw it in.
- Take the dipstick out. Check the level.

My dealer omitted the "Don't screw it in" part and underfilled the oil. It's common. It won't kill your PCX. Just top off, and do the service yourself next time.

Glad to hear it won't damage the engine. I have since ridden it after my oil change and it's running better than ever.

Just a note, the final drive oil will pretty much always look good and light colored since it is not involved in combustion....like engine oil. After a bazillion miles it will look clean/clearish. Don't go by appearance....change per your maint schedule ...or more often if you like.
