Mel46 wrote:You were talking about a Rolls Royce. Well, we have those in our immediate area, plus just about any other kind of car you can mention. Yesterday we pulled into the local Starbucks behind a shiny new McLaren Ford GT. In the parking lot sat a Maserati, a Ferrari, A Porsche, and this funny looking BMW i8 (very pretty, but read the specs. It isn't total electric). There are two Rolls Royces we see quite often, and a couple of Bentleys. Everyone here seems to want to "one-up" someone else around here. I have even seen a Maserati SUV. For heaven's sake, who needs a Maserati SUV!!
Me.

Thanks, I will look into both of those movies (documentaries). First clip did not work, second did. I will find both online
So the other day my '06 truck was in the shop for rear brakes, yrly inspection, tires rotated, LOF and ?
Anywho, sitting real Purdy in their lot was this 50's (?) Ford. As a kiddie my Dad had this car in Black. He was waxing it one day and I threw a bucket of dirt over it thinking it would make it to the Other side. Oh Crap!! It didn't and I got chased and spanked good. Wahhh! Bad memory. Shake that one off WN.
Here be a sibling to his with some sweet Red added to the mix (Sign should say, Do not throw Dirt)!
Similar for me yesterday. Was getting a puncture fixed in my wife's car and there was a lovely yellow e type fhc. I'll post a picture tomorrow when I'm on the laptop.

I am not an expert on cars by any means, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is older than a 50's-something model. As well, I wouldn't be surprised if your father's was black because it only came in three colors - black, black or black.

My cousin had a used '49 Ford his last year in High School. . .yes he's a lot older than me. But I remember it being kind of a Robin's Egg Blue. Not dark blue. . .very light blue. . . and he took off the hub caps and painted the wheels red. I can still remember the Kodak moment in my head when he was driving off one sunny afternoon. It was a really cool car.

That's not a Datsun 240Z. . ..
It must be a Jaguar E-Type. It goes right to the soul. They sure don't make 'em like that anymore. Reminds me of the "Dave Clark Five" movie "Having a Wild Weekend".

WN - It was more of a Robin's Egg Blue. . .it may have been repainted before he got it. Not sure. Like I said it was "Used" and slightly
LOUD.
Here's the color as I remember it. Scroll down a bit on this linked page.

PCX150Rider, OH! That blue! Kinda reminds me of a Revell model color. Something like this:

I'm a lover of LOUD exhausts on "muscle cars."
Oh, there I go again...reminiscing. Sigh

Mine, I wish. It was just about when I was getting a puncture fixed and took the dog for a walk and sniff.

My father was one of the few who could tune an XKE by ear, and setting those carbs was a skill in itself.

The past few days on the Island have been stunning weather-wise. If I could eat them up, I would. Candyland
Of course I rode and my Can Am buddy came with a friend from the Queens border to join me. I took quite a few photos but will share only 1 at this late hour. More later.
Sweet dreams peeps

Looks good. The seat and the "Prestige" emblem really add to the appearance.
