Top speed

I didn't buy my 2019 PCX150 for its ability to ride fast. For that I have a motorcycle with a 1832cc engine. But just for curiosity, I wonder what speed others have reached without modifying the stock scooter. My scooter is totally stock, and I am right about 200 pounds. On long flat stretches of road I have been able to get to 64 mph, and that's it. Unless I have a strong tailwind or a slight downward incline, 64 mph is the top end even when I keep the throttle pinned for a length of time. I am getting my first oil change next week, so maybe the scoot is not fully "broken in" yet, but I think that the top speed won't likely change much at all. So I feel comfortable on roads with a posted speed of 55 or less, and that is just fine for me and what I want the scooter for. Its a hoot to ride and I love it for around town errands instead of my big Goldwing. How fast does your PCX go?

73 mph but im only 145 lbs and there is a big probability that the speedo of the pcx is not accurate at all..

I’m also about 200 pounds, give or take, and your speed of 64 is accurate. That was exactly what my PCX did before I changed out to the NCY variator and weights. Then it would do 73. TopSpeed is not important except when you need to get out of the way or be in command on the interstate.

I think mine use to top out around 64 mph. No, of course, it will do 75 mph...but as the belt wears that will drop some as well. Still, if I need to keep up with local traffic on our hills, I do have that extra now. It is important if I don't want to be run over by those who don't have any patience and want to ride your tail end up close and personal.

About 64mph....hard to tell though. There are very few level places in San Francisco where you can open it up. And Bay Area freeways are no place for the lil' PCX...

2010 PCX 125 absolute maximum when new 67mph indicated on speedo.
Slightest headwind or uphill gradient and it dropped below 60mph which just isn't any use.
Didn't buy it for outright speed, but was disappointed at not being able to stay in front of HGVs on major roads.
Was fine on backroads, but half way through my ownership when I changed job and commute route it suddenly became not enough scooter.
Would I buy another one?
Yes, but I'm waiting for the 200cc version.

I’d be all over a 200cc version like a rash

I think most of us feel that way about a 200 cc version as well. For some reason I dont think Honda will listen though.

If you want a bigger engine for more power, why not buy the Forza or one of the scooters from another manufacturer? I am really loving my PCX as a second bike to my Goldwing. But I am also thinking that when the Goldwing is just too much for me in my old age, instead of the lighter bike that I was thinking about, I think I will just get another scooter, but one with an engine capable of me riding on the Interstate, such as the Burgman 400.

True there are other options out there, but most 20bhp+ scooters of 200cc and above are big and bulky GT class maxi scooters.
A small light nimble wee PCX beastie with a 200cc engine would be a different animal altogether.
