rowdy friends settling down

Starting to feel a little older than I want to be, haven't heard from a couple of my riding friends so I made contact. first one stated that his foot is bothering him and hasn't ridden in over a month. the second, loaned me a seat for my bmw to try out and when I asked him if he wanted it back after 3 weeks he said to go ahead and use it that he wasn't riding much this summer. hank willams jr. was right when he sang about his rowdy friends settling down.

Yep, we get older and then things happen. Our bodies fall apart. I love my scooter, and I love riding it...but when my body says "NO", it means it. No getting around it. That doesn't mean that I stop thinking about it. Still, getting old sucks.

Age and circumstances combined I think induce change of riding habits.
Have fun while you can and don't save it all for retirement.
It amazes me how many people seem to be passing away in their 40's and 50's now.
Live for today and be thoughtful about tomorrow.
Deal with the realities as best you can and keep brewing tea . . ..

I worked hard and was finally able to retire by being frugal, though I have very little savings, thanks to medical problems. Keeping that in mind, I almost spit out my coffee the other morning when I saw a TV commercial that talked about being retired and reinvesting your 401K. The advertiser said, and I quote, " If you have an extra
$500,000 and need to get a better return on your investment, call us."
I consider myself lucky. I don't have all that extra cash sitting around doing nothing, making me worry.

thanks for the advice everyone, I'm 58 now and I guess I thought it would not happen that fast. I used to spent days riding, now if I get a few hours in i'm lucky. my wife has lost a lot of interest in riding also. she has 2 bikes of her own and I guess life is taking over
