Autumn ride, NW UK

Had our first frost this morning NW UK. But it turned into a beautiful day and I wasn't working, so headed out for a few hours.
Down by the Irish Sea and then along the River Wyre Estuary & Park. It was warm in the sun. The wet road is from a high-tide a little earlier at a place called Skipool where there's a ramshackle collection of moorings. Some places around are at, or below sea level but were reclaimed following the construction of dams a few hundred years ago.

Nice photos....very clear air there!
Do you rinse the scooter after riding in sea water, or is that river water?

Thanks for sharing those pics!

Take more the next time you take a ride by the Irish Sea again (if you have time). :D

Speaking as a fan Fish, thanks :D !!
Yes. Rode very slowly through that salt water and a wash down afterwards. Although my front garden looks sheltered there, it's just a few hundred yards from the 'top' above the coast. After a gale has blown through, our windows are covered in a film of sea salt and it even gets under the bike cover. It's a constant battle. The bike gets salty just sat in the garden. And one of the roads on my commute can be a cloud of driven salty sand when the wind is up. So it gets right into the bike.

I've just found a tiny point of rust on the chrome handlebar, which is annoying. Don't mind it so much on the stands or mirror arms where it can be brushed off and quickly touched up with paint once a year. But have to work hard the bolts and screws, shocks, under the seat, and front brakes to keep them rust free. Regular washing with wax and then oil or wd40 or ACF50.

Thanks! Will do Old Grinner. I'm digging the pics of the X-Max by the way. She looks very comfortable indeed. I loved seeing those bikes all over SW France in 2018 and if I ever upgrade, I'd be looking at that model first.

NW UK?

You can't be saying lies like that.

NW England is where you've been.

I'm ahead of myself! Give it another 5 years. Then I'll be in NW UK (England & Wales).
