The Honda PCX / Forza / ADV150 / SH Forums

Hopefully someone here can explain what this noise could be, and if any one else had this same problem.
I only have about 100 km on it so far and this noise just started yesterday when the bike was cold, it would happen during acceleration and then after about 5 to 10 minutes of driving the noise would not come back until I let the bike sit for an hour or so.
The noise seems to be coming from the clutch/belt area on the back of the bike.

I did take it to the dealer in Japan today, and I don't speak much Japanese, however he was saying that it is a common problem on the PCX 150 and they have parts on order to fix it under warranty.

the squeaking, screaming noise. my 125 has never done that. good thing you are still under warranty!

Thank you, the shop I bought the bike at has the parts already and i am taking it in Tomorrow for warranty repair. The mechanic knew exactly what to order since they have had many of the 150 PCX's come back for the same problem.

good to hear it will be sorted out soon. so why did you go for the 150 instead of the 125?

The price difference in japan between the 125 and 150 is only about $200.00, Total price for the new150PCX out the door with a GIVI box installed and the Metal floorboard was $3,700.00 US.

got mine before the 150 was out. for me the 125 is the way to go though as i add a 125 to the insurance on one of my big bikes for peaunts. also some parking only allows up to 125cc bikes. one advantage of the 150 is that you can go on expressways if you were so inclined. i do really love the brighter red of the 150.

I am in Okinawa Japan, Here they also released a new color for the 150, "Gun Metal Gray"

Was this ever resolved, and what was the problem? Sounds like an issue in the final drive to me.

I think they might have resolved it, they replaced the Rollers, belt and the large clutch spring. I only drove it about 100km since they replaced these parts under warranty and so far it isn't making the noise any more. I hope it stays that way.

I've got a similar problem with my 2 year old PCX125. It often makes a squeeling/screeching noise on acceleration from a standing start. It only lasts a couple of seconds, and won't occur if I accelerate gently, but sounds like it might be an expensive repair out of warranty

Change the belt? 30mins job

That seems like a dumb and dull colour. May as well offer it as tarmac grey. A nice color makes you visible and the bike look good. I wish red was available when I bought. But my white stands out still.
