CBS reservoir access

Hi Guys,

I am new to my 2015 PCX. I am in the process of changing the front brake fluid, then the CBS fluid.

Question is ….Is there a simple way to access the CBS reservoir without removing the front of the bike? I have tried pulling off the panel by the key, to no avail and knowing my luck something would break if I tried too hard.

Sorry if this question has been asked 1000's of times before

I have looked through the service manual and, yes you pretty have to dismantle the front of the bike. Bummer.

Hi, thank you for the answer to my question, I was dreading that would be the case, what was going to be a 15 min job will now take a couple of hours or longer!!!

The two inner front panels (black ones usually) cn be removed without removing anything else - in theory, but be prepared to break loads of the tags off when removing them (different on 2014 onwards from the 2013 and lower) - there is a youtube video showing panel removal including these two panels - PCX 150 - 2015_16 Front-Side Plastics Removal around 7 minutes in.
I made the mistake of removing them in the winter time so the 5 year old tabs and yellow squish things (hard to describe) were stiff and brittle so best done in warmer months, and my other mistake was pulling the panels forwards, that is a mistake as they come off slightly horizontally inwards to the centre section (one comes of before the other!)
with both removed, the CBS resorvoir can be seen, the top removed and fluid gently added via a tube and syringe.

Hi Iceman, Thank you, I have just checked out the video and tried to replicate their actions, and I feared total destruction, perhaps I will give it another go in the morning having parked it in the sun for a couple of hours. The left had side panel surrounding glove box really does not want to come out without a fight. I may price up a new one before I give it the full whammy. I really don't want it fitting poorly having changed fluid. My other motorbikes are so much easier to work on.

Each of those panels is about £25 in the UK (rip off again) but much cheaper in the US and Thailand.
I've only got one tab on one panel and it's not come off or moved in another 1000 miles! tbh - better to remove the tabs and use security screws to fix to the bodywork (security as you don't want people coming along eith easy access to the lock mechanism - but they just force them usually so no less safe).
Honda videos (in Thai) show the panels coming off with pulling in the right direction, but it seems much harder for most of us. Those tabs are way too strong and brittle - needs to be more spongy / springy.

Just pulled it off, amazingly no damage, just bled the system and all back together as though it has never been apart. Thanks for you help Iceman. Now onto the other fluids.

So, how did you re-fill the fluid - usual top down, with a pump and tube into the CBS reservoir?
