OOPS!

While bringing my PCX home I accidentally jerked the wire leading into the left brake lever assembly out of its socket. :x
Two metal tabs are exposed. Results are the rear brake lever does not activate the brake lights and pulling the lever in does not allow starting. The bike starts when closing the right brake lever.
Examination reveals no way to disassemble the lever housing and reinsert the accuator tabs. I did succeed in popping the fuse serving the blinkers and brake light when trying to do so. A new fuse solved the problem.
Has anyone experienced this problem? Any suggestions regarding repair or replacement?
The parts fische doesn't show separate parts. I have a sinking feeling a new brake lever perch with a new connection will be needed. :(

I just bumped an old thread "Tail Light Assembly - Ebay." It also covers my left brake light switch replacement w/pics. Yeah, quite a few bits in the switch

Many thanks WN! A fine diagnosis and solution. My switch was missing the spring and the tan piece between the metal contacts. Must have popped out as the bike was in transit on the trailer.
The pin did appear and the tapered end was curved the way you described yours.
Seems like the solution is straight forward...order a new part and install it. :ugeek:

BTW, a tip for future reference is if you keep the contacts isolated with some electrical tape, the bike will still start and run. Of course the rear brake switch will not activate the light nor will it allow starting but the right brake lever will.
Again thanks for the help. Just another bonus of an online community.
Cheers!
