As per fish's request I'm putting up some pics I've taken of, and while riding the Golden Gal, aka Ron Jeremy, in and around my town in the Highlands of Vietnam (Coffee Country), day and night, rural and urban.

Kind of a mishmash of photos - so if you see one that piques your interest ask away...

I hope you enjoy...

EDIT: Didn't see the Gallery option until now. Mods, is it possible to shift it to there?

Cool photos.
Thanks!
What city are we looking at?
Is the large thatched hut a tourist attraction..... a Montagnard communal house?
Are the 'Yards still living in the highlands - or have the Vietnamese done something else with them?

My pleasure - I was an avid photographer in my teens, and I like to think I've got a half-decent eye for a good shot. Using a very average phone camera for these shots.

These pics were taken over the course of the last three months, so the pic of the nightclub was pre-quarantine/lockdown. Social distancing to a degree, and a very small percentage of people have shied away from me, after some foreigners tested positive in Vietnam. Masks in public and public places, hand sanitiser each and every venue you go to - supermarkets, coffee shops, restaurants etc.

Schools reopened yesterday, which means I'm back to work (less fun time on the Golden Gal).

This pandemic has shaken the world, and initially, after a month of no work I was slipping into depression. But then I thought "bugger that, life's for the living" - got on the bike and explored far and wide.

So yes, back to work after three months of riding the Golden Gal, and replacing some bad habits with good ones.

The city would be Buôn Ma Thuột - I believe it was quite an important location in the Vietnam War, as the south was being attacked. I stand corrected.

The thatched house is a tourist attraction, but there are original ones out in the country where the Montagnards (more specifically the Ê Đê people), live. I teach at a public school that specifically caters to them.

Your questions got me Googling and on Wikipedia, found some good articles:

The Tank might be a T-54.

Fish, would love to hear your stories from that time, if they don't trigger bad memories/PTSD..

Sure, I'll PM you....but remember what we old vets say,
"the difference between a fairy tale and a war story, is that a fairy tale starts out with “Once upon a time,” and a war story starts out with “This is no sh_t....."

"Yeah, but maybe" they will enjoy a ride on a scooter on their last day. It's definitely more humane than our factory raised chickens. And, unlike the chickens those ducks are out in the sunlight.

Yeah but sad to see ..... I heard some pretty horrific stories about the meat / poultry farms in the US and how hormones / anti biotics are given to the animals and then
When slaughtered they use chlorine to wash down the meat ...... so being hung off a scooter for a couple of hours before ending up in a pot sounds much better
