The Honda PCX / Forza / ADV150 / SH Forums

My scooter experience is limited to The Forza and PCX. The Forza has a cvt filter....PCX doesn't.
Just curious, this is so. Thinking the "trash" missed by the PCX just exits the rear opening at the
CVT cover harmlessly....so it seems. Checked the other threads....could have missed it?? Stay well
everyone.

There isn't a filter listed in the parts list, nor is it really necessary. the air intake is to the side so the risk of larger pieces coming in is reduced. In the time I've been riding small scooters (12 years), I've never sucked anything into the CVT.

Thanks Paul...........Since heat seems to be the drive belts worst enemy, and the PCX does just fine w/o a filter,
was wondering if the filter is actually needed. Suppose if one rides in sand/dirt,maybe. Have to think that the
PCX belt probably runs cooler since there is no filter to impede air flow. Not removing Forza cvt filter just yet but
thinking about it.

Rule of thumb, if it's equipped from factory, there is probably a reason. Bigger bikes will have oil filters as well, which the PCX does not have. A lot of the things that don't exist on small engines are left out because of space restrictions and/or economy considerations.

Figure summer would be the time to try it, if at all. The cvt filter on the Forza gets coated with leaf bits/grass etc. and dust.
Will probably leave well enough alone........maybe clean it more often, especially in the hot weather.
