Hi there PCX community,

I was so glad to have bought a PCX knowing there was a big family around the world loving and riding the same machine as I would be.
In recent times my PCX experience has been a little fazed, I am currently looking for some guidance with the front shocks. At first I noticed a leak when I felt the handling was a bit wobbly. The fork oil levels seemed right on the line. So when I went in with a pair of newly bought Fork seal and dust kit bought at Honda dealership in LA I was told by my mechanic that he would rather not change the seals because he noticed rust on the front shocks. Trusting his advice now I am on the internet looking for new front shocks that are reliable and can be delivered soon'ish considering the handle starts getting wobbly when I hit a bump (which LA is full of!)

What do you recommend I do with the front forks? Buy a honda OEM or a YSS one or any other recommendation I am unaware of?
Its a 2013 PCX.

Not able to advise, but in the UK, after 6+ years in all weathers and salted roads, the steering and shock area look horrible on my bike - rust and crap all over the place. Can't be avoided with UK weather and dirty salted roads.

Before you do anything check the condition yourself.

You are right and I inspected the condition myself, many small rusty dots on the pipe in the front fork. Hence the oil seal was damaged and dont want to risk riding my PCX. Would you recommend getting the rust off although I've been told its not possible or is there a way to salavage the forks since new ones are on the expensive side and I might have the same problem soon because of the weather.

Depending on how deep the pitting is you may or may not get away with just taking the rust off and using a seal-mate on the seals.
If the fork tubes are pitted there are ways of filling them in.

Thank you so much. I am going to open it up and verify the rust damage so far.

The links are interesting and quite helpful!
