A speedometer problem you maybe haven't heard of before

A corner of little emblem on the bottom of the instrument panel of my 2013 PCX 150 has come loose, and the needle on the speedometer has got hung up on it — first on one side of 45 mph and now on the other. I don't like having to do even basic arithmetic while I'm riding.
At first I thought my bike suffered from the speedometer issue others have reported here, but I looked a little closer and the problem is just an errant piece of what appears to be adhesive metal foil. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this and whether their speedometers worked properly afterward (and also whether their odometer worked when it was malfunctioning).
My bike sat from 2013 in a heated basement (which may explain the failed glue on the emblem) until I acquired it in June 2020 with 56 miles on it, had its initial service in July, and has been otherwise flawless for 1500 mile so far. Terrific bike. Thanks in advance for any insight anyone can offer.
