Help identifying wires, also rattling noise

Towards the end of my relatively intensive ride a few hours ago, I started hearing this weird high pitch sort of rattling noise when going at low-medium speeds. When I got home, I put the bike on the centre stand and when I pulled the throttle and held the rear brake I could still hear the noise. It sounded like it was coming from the front, somewhere under the plastics. I had a good look under the front end and couldn't see anything obvious. So I thought I would have a look under the windscreen cover. I found these 2 wires that look like they should connect to one another. I didn't want to just put them together and see what happens though. Everything electrical wise seems to work fine still. As for the noise, after the bike has been sat for a few hours the noise seems to be gone, at least when I run it just on the centre stand. I'm thinking maybe it was cooling fan working extra hard since it was about 24'C today which is the hottest it's been in a while. I will go for a ride later when it's cooler and see if it comes back.

Here's the wires: Image

Update: I can't find a way to delete this post, but the noise turned out to be coming from one of the fairings. Somehow one of the clips has broke and it had popped out a little and was rubbing/vibrating. Still not sure about the wires though.
