parked the pcx outside the house today and the woman over the road tried to kill it by reversing into it.Its all superficial damage to the panels on the left hand side , mearly scratched parts from the front fender to the air box.The question asked by her is, do we put it through the insurance or does she pay for it herself in cash.Im a reasonable sort of chap and can't get a quote off the honda dealer till wednesday as we have a bank holiday here on monday and thats when they can look at it.
My question is, has anybody used the asian part center, user name hondapartcbr125 on ebay where you can buy all 10 pieces of body parts for £175 plus £55 postage from thailand sounds too good to be true as this would fix 80% of the damage would only need a mirror and rear foot rest to make it look newish again.Has anybody bought from this site or had any dealings with them ?

To answer her question: It will cost her a lot less in the long run if she pays cash and leaves the insurance guys out of it. I would agree to that if I knew I would get a satisfactory settlement from her.

Don't forget that some of these parts get an import tax on them. I have heard of others getting a good deal and then finding out that they had a tax at the port of entry.

thanks Mel46 thats the right answer, looking through there feedback it looks like the uk customs charge about £35 on import, just wondered whether anyone had any personal experience of receiving parts from them as some of the exhausts they sell, feedback suggests there fakes.Ten pieces of genuine pcx plastics look a bargin for around £265 but 10 fakes would be a waste of money ,thanks

I can't say anything for that seller, but I'd insist on getting Honda OEM parts.

For anything like this in the USA, I ALWAYS call the cops and get a police report filed, then go through insurance. It costs the at-fault driver a LOT more in the long run, but you are completely protected and can't get screwed over. If the lady who wrecked your bike is dishonest, she could just bail on you and leave you with no reimbursement for the parts.

Had the quote back from the honda dealer for £575 which only included 2 hours labour at £55 an hour. They must be able to take it to bits and rebuild it a lot quicker than i can,any way i rang the lady in question with the quote who was quite happy and brought the money round the next day in cash.I lightly sanded the damaged panels with wet and dry pushed the clip back in on the fairing and hey presto looks great from a distance.
After promptly trousering the cash i explained to the mrs the logic behind it,its now 2.5 years old in six months time it will only be worth £1000 pounds so only need to sell it for £425.which won't happen as i'm going to keep riding it for at least another year and a half,and also its over half of this years holiday spending money so thats where its going.

That works too! Money is always a good, and the functionality of the scooter remains unimpaired.
