Hey guys the names Daniel.

I am planning on getting a nice shiney new 2013 PCX 125 next week.

I have been looking around for a few days on this site now and you all seem to know everything about everything PCX.

I was wondering if there's anything I need to know before getting one?

Thanks guys

Hi Daniel, welcome to the forums!

The new PCXes are 150ccs, not 125s. Make sure you get the PCX 150, it's a good upgrade over the 125 in terms of speed, at no loss of mpg.

The service intervals for your new PCX are here: http://hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=323 and if you want some light reading, the same manual that will come with the scooter is posted here: http://hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=17#p22

Have fun with your new scooter! :D

Thanks muddiedog for the reading!

My local honda dealer (UK) has the 125 brand new unregistered plus I'm on a CBT so 125 is the max for me

Just a thought, I would try to negotiate a lower cost as the PCX 125 has been replaced by the 150.

Maybe save a couple hundred or so.

That is rather strange. The 150 has been selling world wide for almost a year now. In fact, I recently read somewhere that 2014 will bring some color changes to the PCX 150. I guess when it hits the UK you guys won't know which color is this year's and which is last year's. :-0

Just an update. The day before I went to put a deposits down on a new PCX at a Honda dealership, I found a superb condition 2012 gunmetal silver PCX with 8k miles a grand cheaper. Will find out tonight when I can collect and post pictures!

PS

In the UK new bikes have 2 years warranty. Does that hand over when sold? This bike is almost a year old. Thanks

Hey Daniel congrats on your upcoming scooter purchase. this site is a great resource for all your questions. post some pics when you pick up your bike. also, in your profile, include where you are from. it's a blast to see that you are talking to someone from England one minute, then someone from GA, FL, TN, and even PA chimes in to add their two cents worth. Also, think of a cool "avatar" and let us know if you need help posting it on your profile.

So long as you have the service record with all required stamps and its not a grey import then yes, the balance of the warranty does transfer to the new owner.

Thanks guys :)

Would you be able to run over exactly what I would need for warranty to pass over? The Internet isn't very helpful. Also the bike just became untaxed and current owner is not insured. Is there a grace period when purchasing a new bike to get it taxed?

Thanks guys for all the help! Been awesome!

All you need is the service record booklet.
As for the road tax question, in this case there's no grace period, as soon as you purchase it if you use or keep it on the road it must be taxed.
The only exception is if you are riding it to a pre-arranged MoT test, but crucially not back from a failed one...
As the scooter is less than three years old that one does not apply.
To get it taxed you'll need the new keeper slip off the registration document and your own insurance certificate.
