Im considering one of these scooters.

However a stiff suspension on a motorcycle gives me back spasms after a couple of weeks.

If you are experienced with bikes can you say is the rear suspension soft or stiff?

The forks dont matter its the rear shocks.

Thanks for any input!

It is soft.(it's cheap).
I don't mind the springiness, it works for me 8)

My wife asks me if the tires are low each time she sits on her 150. I have to assure her that the tires are fine. It is the shocks that make her think that the tires are low. They are a bit soft. However, if we ride on normal paved roads the shocks are fine, though the center stand looks awful close to the ground. I ride behind her on my Burgman and am afraid that she will hit a pot hole and bottom out, but she avoids them quite well with that little bike. It has great handling characteristics.

My suspensions seem very stiff, and I can feel every bump, even on a good looking road. I was thinking there is something wrong with mine, but I guess, since it's not adjustable in any way, this might be the reason. Please also post your weight. Being a small scooter, it might be factory set to be good at a specific, average user weight, like 85kg.
I'm 62kg and it seems stiff, I can feel every bump.

Here in Brazil and there in Portugal, we have got a very bad rear suspension. Really bad one. There are a lot of users changing they rear suspension or trying to fix it out. They use to insert a kind of teflon ring on the spring to get some tension on it.

Look at this picture on the first post of this topic to know what I mean:

Knowing Your Weight would be a help in this Thread. Under Hard Use, the PCX is sprung fairly soft by Motorcycle Suspension Standards, although my PCX150 seems stiffer than my PCX125 was. I'm still trying to find out if Honda made a slight change, but no confirmation as of yet..... 8)

I'm sorry about that. I didn't know about it.

I'm 5'11", 160#. I took out the hump, and replaced the hard foam under the seat with 2"
of green "high density foam". I pulled out the hard foam from the hole where the hump was
and was able to pull out, up to the center hole under the seat. The high density is pretty easy to work with. I cut out the appox size and fitted it in. I also put a sleave in the hump area to hold up the form. Replacing the hard form makes a smoother ride.

The first time is always the hardest. RP

For the record. I had to put a second piece of foam (about half the size of the first) to take up some lost space.

Many times, it.s just learning from eachother. rp
