The Honda PCX / Forza / ADV150 / SH Forums

New to scootering. Trying to decide between PCX 150 and Kymco Like 200i. Advice? Other models I should consider? I'm aware of the price difference but would appreciate other pro's and con's of each model.

mate, if money not an issue, have a look at the forza. the pcx is a great little scoot, but if you doing trips on faster roads you may want to consider the forza. if its lower speed commute and a bit of pleasure the pcx will be fine.....

Trigg makes valid points, the two key deciding factors are usage pattern and budget.

Kymco Like is an 11hp 160cc aircooled retro style machine, looks pretty and should be reliable enough.
Depends what you intend using it for, but if you are going to use it exclusively as a city runabout and like the retro style, the Like 200 should do the job just fine.
As would the similar Sym Fiddle 2

The PCX is a different style, liquid cooled and is also reliable.
The Kymco Movie 150 is a 13.5hp modern looking alternative to the PCX and is well worth a look.
If you will be using faster roads you'll need something faster than any of the above
Both current Kymco 300 models GT and DT are good and the new Honda Forza looks set to be the class leader.

After 45 years of motorcycle riding, when my wife suggested a pair of scooters, I did some research. Here are the things the PCX has over the other scooters that were on our short list:

Fuel injection
Water cooled
14" wheels
Honda reliability
Styling wasn't trying to be a Vespa-wannabee

What I found after we bought them: surprisingly peppy, good brakes, comfortable riding position, good under-seat storage, decent top speed for the occasional highway foray. EASY and FUN! A bigger scoot might give you even more of the same... or, it might take away some of the ease - we move these things around like they are bicycles.

Go with a brand you trust and a dealer you like. Buying your first ______________ (fill in the blank) is often a leap of faith. Your first scooter doesn't have to be your last.

If I had known these were this much fun, I would have done this a long time ago!

It might not be the best, but IMO it is better than not enough.
