Looks like more of a mini bike, ie: trail 70 or 90 from back in the 70's

I really didn't see the point? The U.S. only received 3,500 GROMs & there is no plan for anymore. Most dealers only got 2, if any. Only the top selling dealers got them. Our two were accounted for before they left the crate. The owner bought one of them & he leaves it on display at the dealership while he works.

Whilst he works; and it looks nothing like a trail bike from the 70s

How many honda dealers do you have in north America!!!

If I remember correctly, there were only around 1,000 dealers that were getting them?

:ugeek: Short for Grommet, slang for "little kid".
I've heard this many times in the surf/skate/bmx culture. 8)

How fast was your ruckus? If it can only go 43mph(stock ruckus) that is pretty weak.

The MSX (Grom) is but a Honda Wave in disguise (and with a new frame). The engine is 125cc, has about 9.5 HP and can achieve 90 km/h. These minibikes are all the rage in Thailand. If you don't like the minibike status, you should consider its bigger sibling -- the Honda Wave. There's a new retro model out with essentially the same engine (albeit only 110cc). It's called Honda Dream Super Cub 110.

I think they are considerably faster than a stock Ruckus (although probably not true highway speeds). They are just a toy, imho. The guys I know who have them say they are a blast to ride though. They are great for pulling wheelies and doing other stunts. I don't know how long the novelty will last before people get tired of them.

Also, the Grom is not really a scooter. It has a clutch and shifter. Like you folks have said, it's more of a mini-motorcycle.

My dealer had one in his show room when I was there last week. I don't care for the look... I think it looks like a bug. But I do wish Honda would put that 125 cc (or, even better, a 150 cc) engine in a Ruckus!

Here is a video from Honda...

It would be great to take the motorcycle safety course or drivers exam with. :)

The followup might be the fully-faired Honda Groin: A Less-Than-Massive-Crotch Rocket.

Oh. A local Honda Powerhouse dealer is giving away a Grom this weekend.
If I win it, I'll let you know how it handles grout lines in the kitchen tile.
