A nice job and thanks for the video.
It's definitely going to be easier if you put your scooter on its side stand (like you did) when trying to release the big axle nut of the rear wheel.
You could use a velcro strap to lock in the rear brake handle before you start on the job. Or get somebody to help and sit on your bike.
The axle nut can be a hard nut to crack. I did it this way on my Vespa LX 150. I don't have an impact driver. I just placed my leg and some of my body weight on the handle of the socket wrench to loosen the nut that refused to co-operate.

Good advice!
I bought the impact driver for the variator nut but it worked well for the wheel too. Its worth the £30 but you wouldn't want to carry it with you so its good to see alternatives especially if your touring, a bit of velco isnt much to carry.

What are those things on your handlebars in the video? Is that something for winter?

I just put it on the side stand, put a cable tie on the brake lever to apply the combi brake and used a 1/2" drive breaker bar to undo the nut.

Handle bar muffs! Keeps the rain and wind off, but they do look a little silly. I ride all year round in the snow, rain and frost so they are essential really.

Its the R319 that fit the PCX, expensive but the best. You can get cheapo ones on ebay for like £15, most can be forced to fit but my first pair only lasted a year so i bought the Tucano.

If you are planning on removing it why don't you check it's size using one of your sockets?

I have to buy one. The biggest I have is a 22mm, and that is still too small.

Just found a cheap pair of calipers lying around. I got 24mm. Is that what you get?

Great video and informative !.
Six point 24 mm socket would probably be best for that torque spec.
